Suggestions for a Chaotic Announcer & Melee-weapons.

I'll keep this short so i don't bore you...

Include an announcer-voice pack please. I was thinking that the Proxy-mines would be perfect for ChaosUT2, since they are already a part of the mod.

Add a Double-axe and/or a Mace, they are brutal enough to fit in with the mod IMHO.

Maybe you should join forces with the team behind "Unreal4Ever" (http://www.planetunreal.com/u4e/)? They had some brilliant weapons in their mod for the first UT, and their mutator "Night of the Living Dead" gave me some good laughs.

Thanks for great mods so far!

hehehe . as soon as I saw the word announcer , I thought , Proxies. but I guess you beat me too it , nice call. I wouldnt mind proxy anouncer either

Hmmm not a bad idea at all

At this rate, seems like there will be enough melee weapons for true combat! How will all the weapons be different and useful in their own way? To me, it would seem even harder to make melee weapons different then gun weapons. Proxy Annouuncer would also be fun :proxy: .

BTW, any plans for a new HUD system?

I think the differences will come in the moves that are available for each weapon. From what I've heard about the new melee system, the animations will be more than just eye candy. The animations will actually determine where the weapon goes as far as hit tracking is concerned. So, all we have to do to make a new weapon is give it a new model and a new set of animations, and each one will then vary greatly. This will also make melee combat more artistic and varied, which should make for a very entertaining game.

Good thing i was not alone with thinking about the Proxy-announcer... :wink:

For the meleeweapons i was thinking something like:

Sword - Fast & Light damage

Double-Axe - Medium speed and damage

Mace/Morningstar - Slow and painful

i have some weapons:
a big knife - normal fire just a slash. alt fire you charge it with a heating element to do more damage.

a chainsaw is needed

a club - norm fire is a swing and alt fire is a hit with the bottom of the handle

a flail - normal a smack and alt a bunch of razors come out of the sides.

pickaxe - normal can just be a hit with it and alt can be more powerful so it sticks in the person and you can drag him around or he can drag you depending on health of person. think about it. one guy that was hit with the axe kills the guy and is dragging his enemy's corpse around.

a spiked shield - normal blocks and alt makes the person strike out with the shield. another thing where the corpse is carried around.

a goddendag - a big wood block with nails driven thru at the end of a handle. like a 2-handed morning star.

gauntlets - these might be like freddie kreuger's claws where normal is a slash and alt is a thrust. charge it and you can drive the claw thru someone.

those would be cool

how about , an occasional smoke bomb pickup that spawns randomly like the gravbelt , when A person finds it they get 2 smoke bombs, the player throws one at their feet , allowing for a smooth getaway

a chicken! normal is a swing but alt turns it into a bucket of chaos-fried chicken that gives you health.

I had a crazy idea for an Energy bow/ melee weapon/ throw able melee weapon, well you know how with bows the part of the bow you hold is sort of shaped like a crescent moon. The idea was to have blades extending out of the top and bottom part of the bow (the parts that make the crescent shape). That would allow you to use the bow as a melee weapon.

The string would be made up of a thin line of energy; you would press a button to bring out the string (if it was a real weapon it would have the button on the handle lol). The arrows would be made up of energy also. There would be 3 functions for the weapon....

As an Energy bow: you would press fire and shoot as normal (the projectiles would pierce but not do much damage)

As a melee weapon: You would press the adv. function button and be able to split the bow in two and have both parts of the bow (which would be 2 half crescent shapes) act as 2 curved short swords or daggers maybe. That you would be able to attack fast with since they are light but they wouldn’t do much damage.

As a throw able melee weapon: Maybe press the advanced function button again and you would turn the bow over so that the part where the string is, is facing away from your character (looking as if he was going to shoot himself lol), You would then be able to throw the weapon and it'll act as a boomerang. That would do the most damage and have some recovery time since you would be waiting for the bow to return… or something

Anyway I would call it uh the Crescent Energy bow

I remember the crossbow in ChaosUT had a "melee" attack, if you were within melee range of someone, the allow and some other part of the crossbow would hit the person, doing double damage. Does it do in the same in ChaosUT2?

BTW NeoNight has a good idea.
