Chaotic Dreams

Hi, does chaos ut work with other maps? these are the senarios i get;

1. play against bots, everything works, can see weapons/weapons fire.
2. start/join server, ut chaos maps, against mates at a lan, also all good.

now the problem...

3. start server, non chaos ut maps, against mates at a lan, i can see/use
weapons, mates can't see theirs, but can use.
4. join server, non chaos ut maps, against mates at lan, can't see
weapons, but can use.

setup i/mates have is;
win xp pro
ut2003 ver 2225
epic bonus pack
de bonus pack
chaos ut 1.00
chaos ut hotfix to 1.01
chaos ut mp map pack

does anyone have any ideas as to why chaos ut weapons can't be seen if i join a chaos server running non chaos ut maps?

i've read the forums, and know this is happening to other people, and it may have something to do with 4 lines to be added/removed/corrected in the ut2003.ini file, could someone please elaborate on this 'procedure'

have tried the usual reinstalls, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, cos ut2003 is not the same without chaos ut

From the Chaos help files :

NOTE: All server admins must perform this step first!

Go to your UT2003/System folder, and open the UT2003.ini file, and in the Engine.GameEngine section, add the following lines:
ServerPackages=MultiPickup
ServerPackages=ChaosGames_UI
ServerPackages=ChaosGames
ServerPackages=ChaosUT

Making sure there are no empty spaces at the end of each line.

This will enable clients on your server to see the Chaos 'stuff'.

I have a probleme sorta related:
I play alot of map non-chaos with chaos mutator. Some map everything is ok but when I get to a map that doesn't have a weapon base I get the normal weapons but with the chaos ammo. I only play against bot so it as nothing to do with the server.

Can someone help?

hmm as i remember the way chaos weapons spawn is by changing the weapon bases, so i think that you are correct that no bases is the root of your problem

is there a way I could get the chaos weapons without the weapon base?

Can you give me a link to one of those maps? I would like to take a look at it to see what they did so I can figure out what we need to do. Then go from there....

the koth pyramid level just puts the superpickup base underground, by a small ammount.

I also think that using something like the grav belt spawner for weapons would be cool.
