New map pack any time soon?

When is the next map pack coming out?, and will there be any BR, or CTF, or DOM maps? I would also like to ask you not to make any multy gamtype maps because it's just boring to play the same map over and over, IE ditch DOM Dungion, it's a much better DM map then DOM, it's too small for that. :?:

One last Q: Will any of the CUT maps be makeing a comeback in CUT2:E?

ATM we are not sure. We will probably release a tweaked version of the current KoTH maps to help fix some bot issues. We have found ways to make the bots play them better now. Also we are working on new maps.

As far as old maps? Well there is a WIP of the KoTH Sub map :) And some one asked for a remake of FIAB so...those two for sure. But we have some really cool maps on the way soon ;)

The answer to you question is: I highly doubt it.
You see most of our mappers do other things also. For instance, JB is also the lead Coder, Deus is also a beta tester, and Im a modeler. There are a million things for us to do, but im sure that most of the maps will be released as they get finished.

Im sorry you dont like the idea of using one map for multiple game types. I just figured that i was getting the most out of the map. sorry you find it boaring.


To add to JB's list of remakes. Pyramid, Dungeon, Jailhouse and Oilrig are all from previous versions of Chaos. Not to mention one of the maps that im working on is Cerebro. ;)

Any chance of the map Weapons of Chaos will make a comback?, or how about the one of the Great CTF maps?

Eddit: Chaos should be a gametype with only it's maps and then the Mutator is not needed My Idea is to have it so the Mutator download is the main one but a 2nd download for it would be as a game type, for the players like me who loved what Epic did with it as a gamtype in UT GOTY. This way both sides for gamers win.

I think that chaos HAS to be a mutator...If it was a gametype , then you couldnt play chaos Ctf , or BR , or any of the other great gametypes that you might have...


also , If chaos were to become a gametype , they wouldnt be classified as a mutator, and right now they have a pretty good chance of winning best mutator in the MSU contest...

First off duble post :? second I understand but later on mabe after the MSU contest? and as for what other gametypes I have none, I just like the way Epic did it in UT GOTY, thats all not that it should change to a gametype all together? I know you could make it so it's all in the same catigory? mabe like add a Game select which Game UT2003, or Chaos then only those maps would show up. Thats my point It would also eliminate the probs you are haveing with the server browser. I did not mean it to be rightaway but like a possible thing that could happen in the furture.

any way you alreddy got one part of it as a Gamtype, KOTH, and two more planed I don't mean you should drop the Mutator all together but have it as a option for those who like it that way.

yeh thanx for Pointing out the double post but I caaught it immeadiately after I posted it... anyway some of us do have many Many gametypes , but You did say that the gametype would be optional, and I do see why you would want it as a gametype (faster load times right???) so I'm gonna let the chaos team make the decision...and yeah It would solve the web browser problem , but I think they already found a way around it...

Excellent... that is one funky map. Will the soundtrack still be provided by the Prodigy?

THanx for the compliment. There is a problem with providing the sound track for my maps. Mainly it is all of the copywright infringement stuff going around. You see the Sound package that i used for the origional version of Cerebro was not the actual song. I got it from Unrealrocks.com. Now With the new engine, there is an mp3-ogg converter that i have gotten my hands on( thanx to Shadow ;) )that would alow me to drop the songs in as i please, BUT as much as i would love to be contacted by any of the Artist that i would use, I would prefer that it not be a letter of intent to sue. ;)

My sugjestion, would be to get a converter and convert all of your mp3's over to ogg. then use the unreal player to manage them ;)

The reason why we have not made a gametype is we really dont have enough neat stuff to justify a game type like ChaosDM, ChaosCTF, ChaosDOM, ect. We will get there some day to add neat effects like slomo death on last kill, ect

Just one small request...

When these wonderful things *do* come to light, can you make slomo death optional?

I've nothing against it, it's just in UT it used to become permenant (so the next round would be slow motion in its entirety....) and I'd have to go back to the main menu and crank up the game speed. :evil:

In case you still play UT1, just type slomo 1 in the console to put it back to normal speed :)

Cheers, although it's still a little inconvenient, no? I do occasionally wheel out CUT1, though generally only to play Jailbreak with. The two went together rather well...

Well I only know of one Meely gametype that your team has in production right now so thats cool I would love the GameType I posted to be one of em but.........ah I can always dream.

Eddit: Yes thats the one with the Gladeator like maps, and my custom score point set up. It would rock online, and in bot maches.

I called it WarLoard, and it's topic name is: Meele GameType Idea!
