Love the new upgrade

But here are some ideas I came up with. For the grenade launcher, regular fire is a charge up shot that bounces around and explodes. If you just press it, it shoots it regular, if you hold it, it charges and the longer you hold it, the longer it bounces around for. Alt fire is a chargable attack like the regular fire only instead of shooting one that bounces around, you shoot 5 or four, or an amount based on how long you held it down. How fun would it be to run into a room shooting 5 flash grenades all at once blinding everyone in there? The reason I like this idea is because I find alt fire really useless right now. Sure it has some purpose, but IMO multiple fire is alot nicer.
For the grappling hook. Once button would shoot the grapling hook that would be just like the original one, and another button would shoot a grappling hook that can hook onto items/powerups/people and pull them to the shooter. Also on the main fire, I'd slow down the pull. I like to spiderman around levels and with the grappling hook right now, it pulls me so fast that I don't have enough room to swing, let go, shoot again and keep swinging.
With fire mines, it'd be nice if team members wouldn't be able to trip them. I always have that problem. I lay them, my team member runs by and KABOOM! Waste of time.
Flash grenades are nice, but I think smoke ones would be better. One thing I hate about flash grenades is that it doesn't affect bots at all. If you could fix that, it'd be very apprectiated.
I think the ripper might be too powerful. It is fast, can ricochet, and does pretty good damage. I seem to get killed with the ripper more than any other weapon.
Just a fan's thoughts.

I agrreee totally , xcept wouldnt it be better to have it as adv weapon option. this way fans of the current mode wont be angry.
Flash grenades are nice, but I think smoke ones would be better. One thing I hate about flash grenades is that it doesn't affect bots at all. If you could fix that, it'd be very apprectiated.
I too would also prefer smoke grenades , you can still keep the flashers , but smoke should be an option. sure they have simillar effects , but so do poison and fire . diversity is appreciated greatly , not that this mod doesnt have diversity coming out the wazoo already tho

I do agree about the trip mine situation. That sort of thing drives me mad in CTF.

about the bot flash. The first flash grenade does startle the bots. They stop firing and back away. However after that they are not effected anymore. Some good points on the other ones that we will have to think about...

Don't really like the idea of shooting 4-5 grenades, as they would be overkill with poison and flame grenades. The Crossbow already does this with allows. I never really like the UT Rocket Launcher because of shooting six rockets at once to me was way too overpowered/kill, but that is just my opinion. Then again normal fire working like the way you said would be nice, just like the Unreal 2 Grenade Launcher. Teammates not triggering your fire mines would be very nice, because I hate my dumb teammates walking into my perfectly set trap.

Actually as a WOK for the grenade launcher, the second mode would allow a time-fired grenade to explode upon contact with a player, however, the extra sensitivity would allow flash grenades to cause it to explode, so if you're lobbing grenades into a room to flush someone out, they could shoot a flash at you and make one of your nades explode as its leaving the barrel, thus damaging you, or worse, coating you in flames or poison.
Also, I think flash-grenades should have an EMP pulse that goes with them. This pulse will short out laser-mines (causes them to produce the same sparky emitter that a dead xloc does). The mines would then act as pickups and could be picked up as ammo again (so if someone zaps your mines, you could go grab them and then re-fire them). Or, you could zap enemy mines and then pick them up to steal them.
The EMP of the flash should also deactivate enhanced sniper scopes (and prevent the effected person from using it for 10 seconds), and kick people out of the redeemer-cam (the redeemer would keep going, but in unguided mode)... Laser-guided rockets would not only lose thier lock, but thier guidance systems would be totally scrambled and they'd go off in random directions, turning randomly as they travel until they hit something (similar to any of the numerous drunken rockets mods out there). Also, anyone who saw a flash go off while in ANY scope (lightning gun and ion painter included) would be blinded for 3 times longer and also take about 15 points of damage. I also think flash grenades should have a large dynamic lightsource which lasts for about a tenth of a second (so even if you're not looking at the flash grenade, you'll still see the flash on the walls). The lightsource should have maximum brightness (like 255) and maybe a radius of 256 or 512 (really big)... That would look pretty awesome. Some of these ideas came to me while I was designing a map recently that takes place on a mountain peak in the middle of a thunderstorm, an idea which was, in turn, inspired from watching the spectacular Arizona lightning storms during monsoon season... I may release that map to the public too, it's actually pretty good. I learned alot about making bright flashes of light look realistic.

I kind of think that would make the flash grenades alittle too powerful. I'd rather it just blind people for a second.
