Can multiple crossbow arrow shots be disabled in MP?

Just wondering if there was a way to disable multiple arrow shots.
Perhaps a mutator check box for old-school crossbow settings?

I kinda prefer the old crossbow (primary shot, secondary zoom) for certain maps.

I like that idea too, but I dunno if it will get implemented... I've mentioned something similar in the past and it seemed the team wanted to keep the crossbow the way it is.

Part of it is, yes we want the Chaos feel to stay, but we also want to Evolve (hence CUT2:Evolution) the mod and not make it a replica of the ut version.

Hmmmm others have asked for a zoom feature. Maybe if we do a medival mut we can add the zoom back to that one. Not sure...just thinking out loud

Not to point fingers.. since i too liked the zooming xbow of old.. however...
The current arrows from the crossbow have a curved path. if you charge them up all the way they fly straighter but at the cost of accuracy. Thus how useful would a scope be?

I think that most people can learn to compensate for range-based trajectory deviation. If you've ever used the short bow from the Thief games, it's very possible (and satisfying) to snipe with it, even though the arrows curve in thier path. That bow has a unique aiming device, shaped like a tall rectangular oval. You place your target at the height of the oval based on thier range. So for close targets, you aim toward the top of the oval, and for farther targets, you aim toward the bottom of the oval. It's a very effective system, and it was recreated in the thievery mod perfectly.
We could do something similar, just change it a bit so we dont copy them. Its not so hard to compensate for realistic projectile trajectories, and, in fact, makes the game even more fun and satisfying. It will force people to make range calculations and adjust thier aim for it. When you learn how to pull off headshots at any range, it can be quite satisfying and demonstrates real skill. This, in my opinion, would not harm the mod in any way. In fact, it would make it even better than it already is, and will probably endear even more people to the crossbow.
If we decide to put one in, the zoom scope should have some kind of range-based vertical aiming guide, similar to the thief version, but we can come up with our own original version. If you want to go for a medieval feel, the zoom scope can look and act like an old-school spyglass...
