Wish List for CUT2

Here is what I would like to have: Some way to adjust the weapons (I am using a seperate mutator now): also some way to adjust player settings health/armor/gravity/airspeed/groundspeed/jumps/ect ( I am using a seperate mutator for these too. Maybe have an ingame GUI like WeaponStuff has. Then you only need this mutator and you don't have to worry about them all being compatable with each other. And please put in a switch to turn off team kill on the Gravity Vortex.

I know this is a lot of work, but it would improve the mod.

The masses should never be allowwed toooo much control , as people who enjoy playing with the standard settings , or anyone else for that matter , will never EVER be able to find a server with settings that they like.

The teamkill on the vortex is necessary , how would you explain standing next to a vortex as it rambles away , and not have it suck you up... Its a nescessary evil , like the selfdamage on rockets

The masses already can change it to whatever they want by adding more and more mutators. This could be an issue when it comes to compatibility between mutators. This addon would just make it easier to control for us server admins.

It is my opinion that no weapons should kill the other players in INVASION.
And I turned off all self damage with another mutator except the Vortex. In my opinion self damage is not a good thing. All this stuff should be switchable from the mod. If you like it than leave it on, if you don't like it then you should be able to turn it off.

Well, it's not up to me alone, but I have no intention of allowing such things, and would lobby hard to stop it.

We spend a lot of time trying to ensure that weapons and items are balanced. We spend a lot of time trying to come up with weapons and items that fit together.

If it were up to me, and if it were possible, I would have it somehow hard-coded so that NO weapon switching mutators worked with CHaos at all. But I cannot stop them, so... whatever, it's part of life now.

But IMO, if you want to play Chaos, then play Chaos. It should be considered as a package, a product we worked long and hard to make complete. It should never be considered a 'standalone weapon mod'.

Again, I realize I can't stop those mutators, especially since some guys on the team support them. But the last thing I think we ought to be doing is encouraging them.

I think it's great if we are compatible with other actual mods. It's the weapon/damage/whatever switching 'mutators' I'm on about.

And the day Epic puts in a slider scale to adjust weapon damage per server, is the day I would start to consider such a thing. Not before.

I understand your point and I did really try to make this work for me as is, however the weapons are way too weak to kill the monsters so I had to jack them up some.

What is your stance on the Vortex team killing issue? It does not fit in INVASION IMO. In Deathmatch it is a bonus but with INVASION it is just plain wrong IMO. How about a switch for INVASION, would that be acceptable? Maybe have it detect if it is an INVASION game then have a special set of variables for it.

Thanks for understanding man. Cool of you.

Yes, I support having the vortex kill teammates. However, I am happy to leave it up to the other guys on the team when it comes to Invasion.

(well, that sounded wrong...it's not up to me. What I mean is, I won't try to stop it, if other teammates want to implement it)

I'm not a huge invasion fan, and so I admit I may not know what's best in that area. So if that's what the consensus(sp?) is, then I'm fine with it.

Yo blueberry , I think I've found a compromise , You know how the flying monsters aren't affected by the vortex , well neither are players in fly mode , perhaps you could use a mutator like fly 7 to keep your teammates from slurping themsevles up. This may not work tho , as I am having UT2k3 issues , and thus , cant really try it out myself...

I agree in that the Chaos weapons should stay as they are, and if you want to change their strength, then use a separate mutator. As for the vortex killing people in Invasion... I've played a lot of invasion and although it was a blast to yell out 'run and hide vortex is coming' or something like that... It is starting to become an issue. So we will discuss it some more. :D

I even went and played a bunch on his server to see what I could see.

I'm Ok with changing it. Or removing all superweapons from Invasion.

Either way is good with me.

you can always just "drop anchor" (grapple into whatever ground is at your feet) and repeatedly hit the grapple up key. The vortex Does affect you somewhat , but if your fast enough on the key, you'll never move more than a foot from your original position.

Invasion sucks anyways (period) :P

Since this thread is called wish list... just gimmie some really cool chaos turrets. :D

Melee would be cool too, but I'm not holding my breath. I never cared for the sword from CUT1, but who knows? This mod is a whole different beast for a whole different game engine, isn't it?

Frobozz... turrets... on their way... and it is both a new beast and an upgraded beast running on a new engine.
