jb suggested that I post pictures of the melee weapons I've finished so you people have something to look at. ;)

'Finished' means that the pictures don't feature the shaders I did for enviromental reflection, but they should give you a pretty good idea of what the weapons will look ingame.

These are only the beginning. I've got more that wait to be skinned, shaded and rigged.
And LoQtUS is working on some nice weapons, too.

I'll update this thread as I get more weapons done.

Since everything runs super-smooth with my gf4 ti 4200 you shouldn't encounter any problems. ;)

Those models look great!! The only thing I would recommend is to make them look more chaos-themed. Right now they just look like ordinary medieval weapons.

Like for the Templar, you could replace that little round thing at the end of the hilt with a tiny skull. That gives it more attitude and edge (if you'll pardon the pun).

Soooo , are all these tasty pics finally proof of more than just a sword and axe making it into the final?

Well maybe, that's because these are the ordinary weapons. Wait 'til you see the ones LoQ and SPA are doing. More chaos. ;)

Yes... no... um... cause we don't know? Actually we don't have it set in stone as to how many there will be etc, depends on what plays well, what animation/models are ready at the time of the public release, etc... hence the vagueness...

satisfaction

Melee weapons are so much fun, and fulfilling when you hack your enemy up when they are using a rocket launcher or other long range weapon.

I'd like to see a Naginata at some point, but I'm also quite curious to see what the modelers come up with... Melee is getting really interesting...

lol shadow star your sig is scary, looks like that character is holding a redeemer... yet there isn't a redeemer rocket in the gun 8O where did it go?! 8O

anyway, yeah I aggree i'd love to see a Naginata

if I ever learn to model/make muts (well) the first mut i'd make for ut2k4 (for chaos ut2) would be an armored horse vechile and maybe an armored dragon or griffin or something.
