heart beat sound bug for Santa Cruz card

I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card. This bug applies to all 3 sound settings (Hardware+EAX, Hardware, Software).

When the heart beat sound is playing, that is the only sound. So when the announcer voice wants to announce that blue flag is taken, the words are cut off (the words are "overwritten" by a heart beat sound). It is as if there is only one "audio" thread in the unreal engine or something.

Sounds a bit like this:
*bump* *bump* *bump* Blu- *bump* -ag ta- *bump* -n *bump*
*bump* *bump* Blu- *bump* flag *bump* re- *bump* -ned

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a known bug?

i think its known. UT2003 has only 7 slots sounds can be put in. That said, if we stuck it in the announcer slot it would cut off announcements. Cant remember where it is though atm.

If we put it on the ambience channel, it might be more realistic. When close to death, the sounds of your surroundings should give way to the sound of the blood pumping in your ears...

But we should maybe come up with something else for robots.

Just say the word and I'll put together some "heatbeat" sounds for robots, maybe like buzzing or crackling as if they had a short circuit, or malfunction sounds... Maybe servo's whirring or some kind of clattering noise?
