Impaling...

I was Playing around In chaos earlier today (big surprise) , And As I blasted arrows through My oppenents heads , I got to wondering about Impaling.

There are several Impalement related Ideas here to consider.

When you kill someone with an arrow , they should be carried back , and Stuck to the wall ,like you get on a headshot , except the whole body should recieve it. This would give the Crossbow a little more appeal to gamers , and make it feel more powerful , without actually having to change the attributes , and risk making it unbalanced.

When You have a melee weapon , Forward and attack are presumably , a forward lunging attack , right? well , If you pin someone against a wall , and Lunge ,at the right angle , you should be able to thrust the weapon right through them , and either , leave them there , stuck on the weapon bleeding to death. Or be able to impale in a method simmilar to MK:DA , where when you impale someone ,you loose your weapon , but they have no method of removing the weapon , and continually bleed to death.

When you shoot someone in the foot , with cutter blades , a well placed blace should be able to temporarily , staple your opponent to the ground.

and a side note , Proxies should have their own proxy gibs... Just exploding w/o a trace is just plain saddenning.

I impaled a bot with my katana yesterday. Went right through his crotch and karma made him shake around on the blade but didnt dislodge :D

Actually, it is already possible to impale people (not just thier heads) with arrows. Though it is highly unlikely and difficult to do, I did it once. I probably should have gotten a screenshot.

Basically, the way it happened was that I had shot this bot full of arrows, and he was low on health. Well I had charged up a full 5 arrows and caught him at point blank with the full blast, just as he was next to a wall. The first arrow probably was what killed him, and the others went through his corpse and into the wall. The corpse was pushed into the wall by the hit, and effectively he ended up spiked to the wall by a bunch of arrows. It was the coolest looking thing too!

I managed to impale a bot (Effigy, for anyone who's up on their custom models) on a pillar with an arrow. He was just sitting their, swinging :)

I took a screenshot, but it's not very good - I was too slow, so the body had nearly disappeared :(

This reminds me of a screwy bug in an earlier release. I was shooting a bot with the crossbow and at one point I went around a corner and turned around, well, the bot ignored me to get the supershield and then I noticed that the bot didn't have a head anymore, just 2 arrows in its "neck"
I'd post the screenshot if I didn't lose it in a format

You can successfully impale guys on those horizonatal spikes in Duel-Arena. They'll stick in the things and dangle forever.
The other day I impaled a guy with the bastard sword (my favorite weapon) and his entire upper body gibbed. Great stuff.

Yep, that's what the spikes are for. Also, at the tops of the pyramids are spikes that come up from the floor. If the spike hits just right, it will impale the guy.

Yea, I tricked a bot into running over that once, impaled her right between the legs
