Chaos Invasion

heres a nifty Idea that I got after playing this nifty little game http://www.shockhaber.com/zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.htm .
see , when I was playing it , I began to think hey , wouldnt it be cool if those flies were invasion monsters , and the swatter was the weapon of a player controlling an Ion cannon , with a narrower beam , that didnt have the normal Ion splash damage.
Heres my proposal.
In chaos invasion
We make a Mobile Ioncannon that can fly over the map , staying at its original height , and has a straight down beam , allow a player controlling it , to pick off Monsters from the sky.the Ioncannon moves left/right /diagonal at a generally slow speed ,but not up or down. It can fly out in a 50 meter circle around its original location (that which is designated by the map author.) The beam of the Ion cannon will fire straight down like a sniper shot , and incinerate a circle about 2 meters wide.
in an invasion map , one player , say , the first one out , or the first one to pick up an Ion painter , will be telported up into the Ion cannon , they dont count as a player ( IE if everyone Xcept him dies , the match still ends) The Playercontrolled Ion cannon would have Target locationating , like the Proxy , and a reasonable zooming scope ability. The Cannon would have a set amout of recharging ammo (3 shots , with a new one every 15 seconds). The player would be able to abandon the Ioncannon if they so desired , by dropping an Xloc beacon.
The Player controlled Ioncannon will not be immortal ,two or three rocket shots would be enough to take it down in a ball of flames (which in and of itself would be cool), but with the Awo key , the Ioncannon could be switched from attack mode to defense mode , in which it moves somewhat faster , and fire is switched from a single downward shot , to a more rapid smaller laser , that can shoot down incoming rockets , and destabilize those skarrj link gun projectile thingies ( shoot em down too). If shootin down projectiles is unreasonably hard, or causes massive online issues , we could just use a shield like the shieldgun. xcept purple of course.
An alternative I think , to the big purple laser downward laser , would be a big purple Link gun like , beam , that auto locks onto monsters and teammates , killing the monsters in seconds, and healing your teammates .but the beam can only be sustained for 20 seconds , for every 40 seconds of chargeup time.
Personally , I like both teh link gun like laser idea , and the rapid , straight laser , and would like to see em both implemented , should the player controlled Ioncannon ever be brought into existence.
