Suggestion for the grappler cable

If you can get ahold of him, you should talk to the coder of this mutator
It works about the same as your grappler, but the cable bends and changes depending on the terrain it comes in contact with

That would be cool, but I guarentee that guy is really busy, After all Gearbox has some MAJOR patching to do for Halo.

I get the feeling that the Chaos grapple will always be just the way it is. It's classic and doesn't really need to be changed.

Oh, I won't mind either way, just thought it would be cool if you guys were to include that in CUT

I think it'll be cool if one could choose between the classic CUT-Grapple and the Ninja-Rope.

or maybe between the classic and a more responsive grapple modeled after the rope... however I suspect it would be more taxing on the lower-end systems

Thoughts of a CUTtable cable and other 'updates' have been discussed... :D

Eh, whatever you guys plan is fine with me, as long as you get the major issues fixed and duel even closer to perfection

Yes... we are already at an RC stage with the interim fix for Duel... (Release Candidate)... that will fix the major issues right now, then on to animations, etc for the next PR.

I like the way the grappling hook is now. I LOVE to swing around the entire tower in Face3. Yes I can swing around the entire thing in the middle and it owns! I am elite w/ the grappling hook!
Sorry, I had to brag there! :P

i tried out that ninjarope mod... that was so great fun :P i roped my team mate and made him a target for the monsters chasing me HAHA... its also great to help your mates up a cliff if they are surrounded. ...

imagine here's you and your friend playing a melee game with swords.. and your mate gets stuck behind a grup of monsters keeping them at bay... then suddenly you from above rescue him, by shooting the grapple at him and pulling him up!.. adds a cool dimension to team work...

ive actually set it up to use both CUT2 grapple and ninja rope now.. ninja rope your team mate.. the grapple onto the tower ;). WOOT!..
watch him swing after you shoooting at whatever he can :P

the bendy ninja rope REALLY is sweet, it does however lack the ability to slacken the rope too(and it auto pulls you in when you hook to a wall, not always useful, since you cant slacken it)... if you could make it both cutable AND an collidable, and make it do elec damage you could shoot it into a tree, then put it up around the level... if you make ti strong enough and hard to see, (laser wire) you could try to decapitate someone who is running by...

or even attach a simple ball or something at the end, and use karma to whip it around the level. (thats way fun to do with the bodies ;)) espeically when youve made bodies hang around a while longer than normal

(Edit Ninja rope crashes on some levels, :(. doesnt like some static meshesor something, he is going ot fix it just very busy,, he walso wants help with texturing, before he will do more i think. the source was in the mod too, i dont think he has anything against other peopel picking up the project so long as they talk to him first :).

One thing I always liked with the ninja rope was the way the "spear" curved downard on its path(since it acted just like the TL beacon)
And watching the trail coming off it was nice

I always enjoyed watching the beacon flying towards the wall in the demo's I had recorded

Personally, I'd like to see the grapple/release time shortened a bit, but it's still pretty good as is
