Weird little bug, and a few suggestions

First, the bug... I don't know if this is worth fixing, but in melee mode, if you do the slit throat taunt with daggers, the left hand dagger goes straight through your neck. It look really strange. One other thing... is it just me, or are some characters really stretched in melee? In particular, sapphire and satin... their necks look really strange.

And just my suggestion for another melee type (yes, I like melee mode), hammers only and no damage. This won't work right on all maps, but it makes the objective to wack the opponent off the edge or into lava or the spinning blades or whatever's in the map. It works as things are now, but you usally end up killing each other first.

One other thing... I don't know if this is technically possible (I'd check, but because I'm running linux, I can't compile the source), but maybe an option to replace player heads with proxy mines?

Just my $0.02... Chaos is great fun!!!

[EDIT] One last thing... would it be possible to have more dismemberment? I've chopped off legs a few times (due to the low swing of the larger weapons), but it would be nice to be able to take off an arm or something (or is it already possible, just that i've never been able to do it... I don't know. Anybody?)

The throat cut animation bug is known, but there really isn't anything we can do about it. The characters hold the daggers the right way, and unfortunately the throat cut animation actually cuts the player's throat. You probably wouldn't want to do that taunt if you were really holding two daggers, since that's what would happen. We can't change the taunt animations, so we can't replace it with another one, and we can't drop the player's weapons when they do a certain animation, so it's just something we'll have to live with. Just use common sense, if you've got a weapon in both hands, don't try to cut your own throat. ;)

you could script it to kill you if yoyure using daggers and the taunt

Hahaha, yeah! That would be hilarious. Sort of like an sacrifice to the Chaos Gods. Or a ninja-like seppuku thing.

"I have defeated the top player in Chaos Melee, I can now honor my family in the heavens." *cut -- die*

and the taunt is called slit throat or sumthin,i think the spectrators woulld like seeing a dyin enemy slittin his own throat

Yes we are looking at that as well. Some of the newer animations should correct for it.

You should also be able to cut off arms as well.
