Chaotic Dreams

Hello,

i've just downloaded the mutator, but I can't seem to get the weapons to load. The only weapon that loads is the link gun, but other than that, none of the chaos related weapons seem to load. I have no other mutators activated (although I have some other weapon mutators installed).

Is it just me, or is there an easy fix for this?
Any help is appreciated because it looks like a really fun mutator.

If you are sure the Chaos mutator is loading, and its set to either Cycle weapons or Always.. then it would seem that you are missing the serverpackages lines...

These go into the [Engine.GameEngine] section along with the other ServerPackages lines you will see... Just put them at the end.

he called chaos a mut,OFF WITH HIS HEAD

wich version did you download,2.0 or 2.1,last time this happened a person downloadeded only 2.1,which is a patch,whats the size of your downloadl,if its below 10mb then its the patch

But need to know which files you downloaded. You also need to have the Epic Bounus back, UT2k3 v2555. The DE bonus pack is required for some of the maps but not having it will not cause this issue.

Do you have the UT2k3 2555 patch?
Do you have the Epic Bouns Back installed for UT2k3?
What version did youd download?

When this issue happens it usally because something is missing.

it sounds like you downloaded+installed only the 2.1 PATCH version,you need to dl+install PR2 and only then install PR2.1

i would have noticed the size/number of files/no textures

im thinking its if you used the Umod version,becouse that would make it not install without the patch,so i consider that isnt a problem,as you can enter the game im assuming Epics BP isnt the problem

so its propable the patch

Hi alpha, those lines Furry is referring to, need to be added to your UT2003.ini file.

You will find this in your UT2003\System folder. Just double click on it, usually opens in notepad, and then you can look for the Engine.GameEngine section, where you will find a bunch of 'ServerPackages' lines.

You will want to add the ones Furry listed, IF you are hosting a game of Chaos. (or if you wanna see the stuff in a demo you record offline)

You do not need to mess with this stuff if you are simply playing bots in Instant Action. This is for servers only, and it's not a 'Chaos' thing, it's how the game works.

Which also means if you are not the host, but you are connecting, and don't see the stuff, then you need to contact the admin and let them know.

But that's not all, even after those lines are in, we have options in the menus for having our weapons replace the standard ones, cycle with them, or not show up at all.

Unless of course you're playing a Chaos map, then all bets are off, and the mapper has control.

Also, if you have those lines in there, it will force anyone who does not have Chaos installed, to download it before joining. So if that's an issue, remove them before hosting non-Chaos games. (again, that's true with all mods and muts, not just us)
