Gametypes again

I know, we once had the discussion, but the new version is out, and still...
there are gametypes for koth, koth team and duel, but imho we also need gametypes for the other modes...
the reason is, if we use a gametype instead of a mutator, we can forget about the serverpackage-entry.
means, if we use ut2vote or mapvote, noone has to download all the chaosut-stuff, if he's just playing standard games!
with the 3 delivered gametypes it already works very well, so please integrate gametypes for the other modes (dm, tdm, ctf...) asap

we'll be getting around to those as soon as we finish Defenders of Chaos and ChaosCTF

To add this we already have a working Chaos Deathmatch
At first the other "standard" gametypes will be their to support melee (as our melee needs special pawns/controllers). But then we will add/tweak them to make the hopefully better

For now Melee weapons
We have some ideas kicking over the fire ATM. But I wanted to get one gametype in for now so we could build off it.
What features would you like to see?

new powerups
tactical projectile deflection with melle
A random enemy spawn every 1 min(1 enemy)
A big gun
some new maps
some complex features

New powerups are planned
1 Melee weapons arent supposed to block bullets or rockets , only other melee weapons
2 Spawning non player enemies in DM / TDM / CTF / ddom / br is kind of pointless , and it uses up slots that should be used by other players

Actually melee weapons can already block some things that the shield gun can. But this feature is not yet complete.

I think he is talking about the chaos invasion(defenders of chaos) enemeys ??
there is a mutator called monster arena that adds random monsters(from invasion) to every gametype (without using player slots of course)

ive think like spawning a scary monster every 5 mins so that players have a distraction,a bit more chaos,not taking slots ofcourse

well.

sorry then , I thought you just meant adding an extra bot to the match. Extra monsterss isnt such a bad Idea, maybe we could throw it in as a side mutator , but I definately wouldnt want it to be default.

Another idea for melle weps,Combos,like Slash,slash,thrust would be shockwave or arm cut,maybe throw... or sumthin
