VERY BAD BUG!!! if you use it , go maim yourself.

I was playing around on Furry's server just now , and lo and behold , the map I've been wanting to play online ,ons-icarus was available . Oh joy I thought , and I hopped onto the server.

but Oh joy I did not find. oh boy . what I found was something much MUCH more horrible.

It seems that some Evil Blankety-Blank , has found a way to abuse the Leviathan , and allow it to Fly!!! now , some of you may know , that the gimmick of Icarus , is that each base has a leviathan that is TRAPPED!! . the bug that people are abusing allows people to fly their Leviathan ALL over the map , and even intersect level objects.

Bugs Are Bad!!!!
Dont Use an Exploit , even if you are losing severely. EVEN if the other person is using the same exploit. Rise above them. They are cowards for relying on cheats to further themselves in the game. Using Exploits , along with Cursing online , are two of the Biggest turnoffs while playing Online. They ruin everyones experience , and we donot want that kind of bad publicity on the chaos server. If you are on the chaos server , and you see someone who is Using an exploit or cursing , please tell them to stop,

After watching the enemy team , I managed to duplicate the bug . It can look like this.

If people persist to use this exploit on the server , the Map ONS-Icarus should be removed from the lineup.

Actually, I find it kinda funny. And it's not only on this map that you will see this. There are pics around the net showing this used in other places.

Everybody has stuff that bugs them about online play. For examples,

IMO folks who change from already even teams, going from 4 on 4, to make it 5 on 3 for example, and then proceed to type in "pwned" when the match is over, are more of an annoyance than someone having fun air-lifting tanks. If there's any 'publicity' we don't need on our server (esp from folks associated with Chaos), this would have to be a part of it.

Or when someone camps the last node and/or core of the other team with a tank, but intentionaly does not damage the node/core, so that they can just rack up spawn kills instead.

Or anyone who sky-grapples.

Anyway, I think you're overreacting. Truth is I've tried to lift vehicles myself just for fun. And I don't think it can be done effectively enough to present much of a threat on most maps.

Although I don't really care for that map, so it wouldn't bug me if it was removed.

erm... I'm not familiar with this bug, but.... is that tank *deployed*???? That's the last thing I'd want to see bearing down on me... a flying ion cannon with 5000 health. Eek!

It is not just Icarus btw - seen screenshots of it in every map with the Levi.

Not that I've seen it myself, still haven't tried the full game online yet :)

Yes, it's a bug in the Leviathan deploy code that fixes it wherever it is, even in mid air

a bit of a silly error on epics part, it seems the levi's weight reverts to zero when its deployed. (this baby can go thru walls too if u rig it up right :twisted:

sorry bout double post but i rather like my face and some servers have rectified this error by causing the raptor to explode when a levi is being deployed on it perhaps this solution will be more widely used in the future or until the next patch comes out

I believe someone has made a mut that fixes the bug. I do not know where it is that it is available for download, but it is worth looking into.

I believe it is called simply NoFlyingLeviathan. Sorry for being relatively unhelpful, but that is the extent of my knowledge of it.

There is a new update for UT2004, and it addresses this bug as well as a whole slew of others. You can get the patch at www.unrealtournament2004.com. Here are the onslaught related fixes:

- Teams will now swap sides after each Onslaught round by default. This is configurable in the game settings menu.
- Fixed flying Leviathan exploit where Leviathan can be based on another vehicle.
- Fixed Leviathan pushing exploits by limiting the Leviathans max speed.
- Fixed Tank pushing exploits by limiting max speed unless falling.
- Node location names show up correctly in network games.
- Fixed terrains with a negative scale not showing PowerNodes.
- RadarMap can no longer be moved off-screen using the HUD configuration menu.
- Fixed possibility of ion cannon volume in ONS-Severance killing someone entering it without giving them warnings first
- Fixed bots getting stuck next to a vehicle because they didn't think they were close enough to enter
- fixed players getting out of vehicles into water

NEW BUG:when players of different versions are connected(all the time) both cores will drain the same

the new GPF's are nice too,i have seen the game crash in more ways i would have thought it was possible!

everytime you think youve seen the strangest crash,another comes up

Epic really did a great job(if they wanted to confuse me)
