Well, we have the player choose one melee weapon as a startup weapon (along with the pistol) in normal DM.
But "melee duel arena in regular DM"? If he meant what I think he meant, then no, afaik we do not. Not yet anyway.
Oh..., and give the guy a break! He's a brand new beta tester, and there is a lot to learn. I'm willing to bet I could give a PopQuiz to any one of our beta testers and not get 100% scores. (if'n I wanted to make it hard enough, maybe fail them all!

Not picking on them, or anyone. Just sayin that there is a LOT in Chaos, and I think the average person misses some of it (I know some mod reviewers certainly have

), at least until they've been at it for some time.

I'm betting you could replace 'beta testers' with 'team members' and it would still be accurate

Depends on if its ChaosUT2 (UT2003/2004) only, or if it includes ChaosUT and ChaosDM (well... i might be able to get a few right for ChaosUT...)

How about a demonic relic, you get to control the person who frags you and when you die they get control back over there own body! That would be so kool!!!!

I already mentioned this earlier but is it possible to have a melee arena for CTF? All the players are given a melee weapon they chose and a translocator but can pick up more melee weps (the flag carrier cant use the translocator so his/her speed does not need to be reduced).

It was said that melee arena in CTF is a nono becouse of how hard it would be to hit the FC...lets look
Reduce speed=Can dodge
No dodge and reduce speed=Can strafe
Remove strafing,speed,dodging=can change directions
Remove movement=stalemate
Basicly it wouldnt work too well with this melee system

Randomly strafing runners aren't too hard to hit, but dodging and double-jumping should probably be disallowed for flag-runners if melee ctf is implemented.

It's possible on really cramp maps with big vechicles to block the way.
And significant slow downs, like. A person gets tired after running too long.
