You havnt playd the chaos Mod. Thats part of our biggest problem Epic as well as most of the players See Chaos UT as a mutator, and not a mod. The reason that we used a mutator as the base of our mod was to keep chaos as compatable with everything out there that we could. But that has been a curse.
With the new Community menu for 2k4 we can no longer be just a mutator, with a map pack or 2.

Yeah, there apparently is no understanding between anyone on what makes a "mod" these days. We for example, had new game types - with bot support -, new weapons, and a large list of items and features....., yet that was still considered a "mutator" only. ??? Yet compare that to others, who maybe altered one already existing UT2004 game type, and no weapons, and no bot support, and that's considered a "mod". Go figure.
However, I do not see this "community" tab as the answer. Some "mods" and mutators are not even using it, at least so far. I have several custom game types and mutators listed in my regular old menu, w/o hitting the community button at all. And one of them just won 1st place in Phase 2, as a "non fps mod". (even with no bot support or online support I believe)
So clearly you do not have to use that tab to be considered a "mod". Which I'm guessing also means that actually using that community tab, will not automatically mean you are considered a "mod".
I've been using it with Chaos so far, and so far I'm still not a fan of the system. Maybe it sounded good on paper, but as a player, I'm not yet impressed. Especially since not everyone has to use it. If you've seen the complaints about how Epic put the "standard servers only" filter On by default, then imagine if that's the case with your entire mod, mutator, and servers. ALL of it hidden by default, and you have to restart your game (ie: hit community tab) to see them.
So as things are right now, I (and many others) will have Chaos installed, but I won't see it on my list of mutators, or game types, even though I will have other mods and mutators listed there. If folks aren't finding non-standard servers simply because of one little checkbox in front of their face that they aren't using, imagine how many we'll lose that don't use the "community" tab.
Anyway, I'm still waiting to see where Epic is going with this. As of now, my vote to the Chaos team has been to not use it. I'm outvoted of course, but just for arguments sake, not all of us are digging the system.
Time will tell I suppose.

I think of CUT as a mod,but as a mut it has weaker competitors
lets look
Mod parts:
Gametype
Bot support
New maps
Cool features
Mut parts:
Compatibility mut
A mut version
The team keep tryin to keep the compatibility still in the mod/mut
basicly this is a mud/mot...a offspring off a mod and mut
