Hi folks, n00b to these forums, but love the Chaos games...blah, blah, I know you have heard it all before, but really, THANKS for the work!!

I was wondering, is it possible to use the Chaos Graffiti to paint a picture on a monster? I ask because I would love to paint one of the logos on a Titan. ...just tippy toe up behind him and sssssssssssss, 'NO CAMPERS'....

Depends if we can do that. Our spray paints use projectors...so the pawn of the titian would have to have its bAcceptProjector flag set...but does sound fun :)

Wait... If you can put spray-paint on people and monsters and stuff, could you put blood splatters and burn marks on people and vehicles too?

Oh, and welcome to the forums! :D

So would it be possible to make a script that auto check accept projectors to every model in the game?

If not, could you make the doc monsters, new player models have it,atleast

The tricky part is making the projector move with the model. Even if we can get the actor to physically move with the pawn its attached to, it would also need to rotate and stretch with the model as they animate. This is possible with some graphics engines, but I'm not sure it can be done in Unreal.

If it does work, we already have textures in place which can be used for all sorts of things, from splattering blood and gunk on players, to blackening them when they burn, and even painting ice on them when they get hit by the freezethrower. We also have some acid burn textures we have been sitting on, without any use thus far, but I'm sure we will think of something to use them for eventually.

couldnt you somehow make it paste the projector onto a skin and leave it sitting in the cache?

yeah, but then you'd have to modify everyone else's cache at the same time and I don't think Epic'd like that very much... or let it happen in code - if you coud do it to the cache, you could do it to any file and that is a major security hole right there...
