Here is a little something that we are still in the process of making in PR 4! This pict is from the Team Melee DeathMatch game type.

Kodiak, the last pic looked a little like a Chaos sniper rifle. Please tell me it is not. No offence to the CUT team but you really messed up the sniper rifle in UT and to a certain extent in UT2003.

how can you tell that they "messed it up" by just looking at the rectical?

That is the sniper rifle, not sure why its bluish though. Haven't noticed that before.
the 3rd last that is it from the First person point of view.
It hasn't changed much from UT2k3...

I messed up the SR?! I'm a freaking mapper
It's not my fault!

Keep in mind that the sniper rifle and turret "hud" change color in team games to that of your team....so they go from grey to red or blue....

Just out of curiousity, anyone know what would happen if you had an old leviathan (the ones that go to 0 weight when deployed) and had a vortex throw one around? I'm guessing it would be something stupid... Anyway, how do levis respond to a vortex? do they get thrown around like everything else?

Technically, if the vortex is a gravity distortion, heavier vehicles would be more effected by it than lighter vehicles. So, a leviathan would get sucked in almost instantly, whereas a manta might take a few seconds.
But, for gameplay purposes, this is basically vice-versa.

I don't think so. Inertia would balance things out, so vehicles and characters would be pulled in and thrown around regardless of mass. That's why a feather and a hammer dropped on the moon at the same time would hit the ground at the same time. Deployed Leviathans should probably resist a little, as they are anchored to the ground (I think).
And what's wrong with the sniper rifle? Looks just fine to me.
Oh, and will gibs and vehicle shrapnel be affected by the vortex too?

Depends on how you take the vortex. If its a gravity distortion, everything would accellerate towards it the same (since in force equations, mass would cancel each other out).
If you take it to be a void sucking everything in, then it would depend partly on air resistance, but would mainly exert the same force on everything, and it takes a stronger force to accellerate a heavier object. Thus, it wouldnt move vehicles much.

Well, it is called a Gravity Vortex, and it is described as a miniature black hole.

When I said 'you' I meant the CUT team. And by messed up, I didn't mean any of the graphics, etc. I (and quite a few of my friends) can't stand trailing bullets. Ant the RPBs also seemed to trail. I prefered the good, old-fashioned sniper rifle from UT99.

I'm pretty sure it will be staying as is. the trailing bullets are actually quite acceptable , because it means that not just any noob can score a headshot. also we have the CUT2 Enhanced scope that tracks your target and gives you a hit indicator zone to compensate for leading bullets
