ammo recycling/ammo gathering weapons

Ok, here's 2 weapon ideas I came up with...
the first one is a gun that fires a spherical object that explode on contact, by that i don't mean as in a bomb kind of explosion, i mean the object breaks and needles fly out in all directions. these needles are poisonous, similar to the poison arrow, does more DOT but less initial damage. the catch is after it's exploded the player can walk up to the shell thing left over from the explosion and pick it up to reclaim half the ammo used.
the second one is slightly more..."spiritual" in a manner of speaking, and was heavily inspired by the Legacy of Kain series. for secondary fire, you need to be close (as in close enough as you would need to be for shieldgun to work) and the gun will "consume thier soul" and kill them, although this is not the only way to get ammo for this gun, there will still be ammo things for it that spawn around the level, just the point in this gun is if your low on ammo and there's no ammo to be found anywhere and you want to shoot something long range. anyway, the soul is used as ammo, but you can also pick up "soulstones" as a source of ammo that spawn around. when primary is shot, the actual long range part of the weapon, spirit things shoot out quickly (similar to link gun primary fire in shape and damage, basically link gun primary fire that is colored a blueish see through color and can shoot through walls and does slightly less damage than link gun primary)
Again, these are just more of my idea, like I wrote in my previous subject/post, they are only ideas for the staff to look at and possibly draw ideas from them.
