First off I have to say that the mod really rox. Some really fun weapons and game types.
However having come from Quake2, specifically LMCTF (Loki's Minions) the grapple left me scratching my head. While I can see some benefits with the current format I miss the ability to "Spiderman" around a map. In other words.... press to fire the grapple (as long as you press the key it fires, grabs and pulls you), on release of key the grapple returns ready for another shot, which if done while still in mid air give the "spiderman" effect.
Am I perhaps missing something? If not is there any chance this could be added in as an optional way to configure the grapple?

Damn that would rock. I guess that was what I was getting at in some other posts I made complaining about the grapple delay when u pull in,detach, and want to do it in succession......aka spiderman effect.

Oh yeah it rox.
I was never a great "Grapple Monkey" but I sure enjoyed the hell out of it. There were places you could only reach in maps if you were really good... for example tops of buildings... you'd have to grapple and release just as you got near the top... your momentum would carry you higher than the top and another well placed shot would pull you in.... ahhhh the memories.
I didn't test it out but I assume the grapple is "off-hand", meaning you can still shoot while grappling. Nothing like grappling acorss a map with the flag on your back shooting at enemies.... definite rush!!!!

Loki's Minions rocked! Excellent CTF there.
"Am I perhaps missing something?"
Well, yes, using the grapple-style you described, you would be missing our 'swinging' state, where you can stop and swing around, even raise and lower yourself with the cable if you want.
There are of course a few popular grapple-styles out there, but I am quite fond of this one, and with some practice, and with some mixing of other Chaos toys, you can do pretty much anything you want.
Thanks for all the comments!

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll have to keep looking for a mod with a "spiderman" style grapple.
BTW... the "Spiderman" style grapple also works well for going down

and while I admit there are times the swinging state would own I really need that "spiderman" effect

Cool.
And yeah, our's will work going down too. Long as you're not falling faster than the hook.

no u should just let the grapple release a little faster when u push the grapple button a second time.
that'll do the trick.

How about a MI type grappling hook that can raise lower itself alternately when you press the second grap button. Press the first grap button to stop it again.
