Using your own custom spraypaint logos in Chaos PR3

Yes, it is possible to use your own custom spraypaint logos, in the already released Chaos PR3, offline or online. And now we have a tutorial available written by Melaneus, to help you do this.

It works basically just like custom models or skins. In other words, if you have a the same spraypaint installed as your buddy, you will both see it online. Anyone who does not have that spray installed will see our Proxymine spray as a default.
Or, you can have the server put them in the serverpackages, and everyone will get it from the server when they join.
Here are example scenarios written by Jb:

Case 1)
One user has custom spray which is not in the server packages - then only that user sees the correct image, clients see the default spray
Case2)
User's Spray added to Serverpacakges - Server downloads spray to all clients, all clients see correct spray
Case3)
Two or more users have the same Spray which is not in the server packages - Here any users that have the spray will see the correct one, all others will see default. Good for clans maybe?

Do you want to retain the black background on the far-right one?
If not, lemme have the DDS or whatever format it is and lemme hack away at it.
Or I could try some kind of border on it, spiff it up a bit

the file name of the textures:
serverpackage=MyTexturePackageName.utx
Not 100% sure if you need the .utx extension..try it and see

its ok, your just mad because i always get you and trailboss with the vortex, lol. anyways heres me ganging up on flak's spraypaint

I got IR stuff in my Chaos install and wouldn't be able to connect(and I don't wanna roll it back just yet)

Ok, I cant import textures, when I import the picture after i push ok, it takes me to this giant list of textures and my picture is nowhere to be seen and when I go to open the package i saved it as (mySpraypaints) its also nowwhere to be seen, so can someone tell me what im doin wrong?

when a server pushes something to you, it is saved in a temperary cache seperate from the rest of your files. I think its the Cache folder, and there is a couple of files in there with random names as well as a text file of some type that tells you which filenames correspond to which package.

I have no idea what Im doing, i followed every thing the tut. said, its not working, I get stuck about half way threw the tut.

Chances are UnrealEd did not like the texture. It will not tell you if there was an error. And it wont show you. A common cause for a texture not important could be an invalid size or format. Or I have seen cases when the path to the file you want to inport has a space in it, UnrealED will ignore it

There is an edditor.log file created in your Ut2004\system dir. You can even look at this error.log while in UE (not sure where its at as I am at work and can not check, try under the view menu maybe???).
