Too many times you end up hacking a slashing the hell out of someone down to like 10 health and some hero who's been sitting and watching comes in and finishes them off. Perhaps we could score based on damage given.
Also can you put a setting for servers to enable or disable the power ups in duel maps? maps like forsaken can go forever when 1v1 occurs and the shields and health keep respawning.
Is there a mutator that turns off the powerups currently?

Watchers:well, thats whats called "situation evaluation, people wait till others are weakened and then chop em up..it can either be called lame or smart,no need for fixing imo
Powerups:there must be a mut like that out,and if not,its very easy to make

Just some opinions of mine to reply:
1 - IMO "cherry-picking" is part of the game, and I actually enjoy it, often. It can be quite fun.
2- What I would like to see us do is put in one checkbox option in the Duel Game Rules tab, for "No Pickups". So you could have the option of turning off all pickups on all maps.
3- Hmm.., not sure, as Epic has really overdone the mutator list, and I don't even know them all anymore, but I don't remember that one. I remember one for No SuperWeapons I think.

So to add more: this box only works in Melee mod. In the other mods pickups are always removed. I feel that adding pickups is letting the people play DM and NOT duel. If there is a lot of fan negitve feedback (ie they want the switch to work in all modes) then we can add it back in PR3.02 or what ever is after PR3.01

Ok Jb, that's cool, and thank you for adding the toggle switch.
But for the record, I'll go ahead and vote for allowing pickups (or not), in all Duel modes, based on the user's choice with this new toggle switch.
I would enjoy it because while I know some folks enjoy the idea of just going at it with the weapons, IMO, one of the skills that I and others have learned over the years is also map control. Adding something, or things, to fight over somewhere in the map brings that aspect of the game to Duel as well (or at least more so than it is w/o them).
I do not feel it's valid to complain for example, that some folks are running around collecting goodies, instead of fighting, no matter what mode of Duel you are playing. That's part of the game, and it's part that I enjoy. I feel that if you don't want your opponent to collect that shield or DA or whatever, then it's your job to get off your duff and get over there and blow his arse up.
And if in the future we were successful in allowing Duel in DM maps as well as Duel maps, then yeah, I would enjoy a Chaos weapons mode Duel in Gael, with the powerup in the center still in the game. Just for example.
Anyway, just another take on it. We can see how these folks feel.

Thanks. Getting rid of items on duel maps as an option was sorely needed.

I look forward to the next patch.
