Just Downloaded Patch and can't play

Well I just downlaoded and installed the patch and I get play on any of the servers and I get a "can't launch Chaos UT URL. Version Mismatch"
So does that mean the the new version can't play with the old or is something just very wrong here.

yeah it means that the patch is incompatible with the servers that youre trying to connect to. they need to update. There are already several updated servers out there though , so keep trying.

Um, I'n joining patched servers, and I keep getting a Chaos Tex 006 mismatch. Helps!!!

Hmmm you shouldn't do you have an IP so we can try it?
Sounds like either you or they did not install the patch correctly..
Your tex_06 should be about 1,756 Kb in size.

I've tried flak's server, twisted place, Solid core games, and the wardragon servers, I got the version mismatch from all. Also, wardragons tried to make me reinstall chaosEsounds3.
Tex 06 was 1756 kb just like you said.

and this was in ut2004\chaosut2\textures correct?
Maybe remove the file and see if the server gives you the correct one?

It was in the correct folder, I deleted it to try what you said.
The first server tried to send it to me twice, going over 100% the second time.
I left for five minutes while I tried downloading from another server,I came back to see the version mismatch message again.
I wanna duel......

TBH I have no idea why it would do that. Would you be game to remove your chaosut2 folder and re-installing it from PR3.0 and then the PR3.01 patch?

Code-Killer,
Did you patch from the zip or the umod? Just grasping at straws here. I checked the file on my servers (Twisted's Place). And I checked the file that is on the public redirect that I use. They look good to me. The only other thing I can think of would be to make sure there isn't a different version of that file somewhere else like in the ..\ut2004\textures\ folder.

Yep, I'm getting the same problem, no matter what I do. I even deleted the "ChaosTex_006" file, and it STILL gave me that message! I tried both the zip and UMOD install. Hell, I even deleted the whole thing and reinstalled. No luck at all.

Sounds like you have a duplicate file (or files) hiding somewhere in your UT2004 directories.

Yep, there was a spare "ChaosTex_006" in my UT2004\Textures folder.
The patch works online now. Thanks a bunch.

okay, I deleted ChaosUT2 and reinstalled. Now when I go to play online, It does not stop quarying servers. I'm so unlucky.
Edit: nm has to do with MS

Nope, I just went to a server, it made me download Tex 006 AGAIN!!!!
