Hi,
I have a Dedicated server at NuclearFallout.net Server Rentals.Default Game files for UT2004 are in a Base Directory at NFO.I am provided with a Web Admin Interface and A FTP site where I can Place Custom Maps And Mods.I am also able to use the Command Line console to sent Admin commands to the server.I finally have ChaosUT2 Pr3.0 working .Although,There are a few things missing or not working correctly.First,In the /ChaosUT/System/ folder There is no "ChaosUT2.ini"or "ChaosUT2User.ini".Instead,there is a "defuser.ini" and "default.ini"0 file in the ChaosUT System folder.I was under the impression that once CUT2 was lauched that these two files "ChaosUT2.ini" and "ChaosUT2User.ini" would be created.Is this a problem or is this normal?and could this be the cause for this problem?Now,Within the Web Admin Interface,the "Defaults section",missing is the "ChaosUT" Menu Option.how can I get this menu to display in Web Admin Interface?
I would like to update the CUT2 to the latest patch.First I would like to get these problems I discribed above fixed.
Although these two problems are somewhat inconvinient,especially the one "Defaults-ChoasUT settings" with the Web Admin.
The Server launches the Chaos gamestype and runs.Clients can joins and play on the server.
Now in regard to updating the Server at the Rental place,I suppose that I only need to replace the ChaosUT folder with the one from the CUT2 PR301 patch and place the files from the Music and System folders to thier respective folders to replace the current ones there?I ask this since the Zip instruction you have provided require me to unzip the patch to the UT2004 folder.

The ChaosUT2.ini and ChaosUT2User.ini files are both made immediately the first time UCC is run. Check for them again, I dont think its even possible to run webadmin without those files, which it basically copies much of the stuff from the ut2004.ini file. (port, listenport, etc)

THe ChaosUT option in defaults only exists if you are running the ChaosGames mutator in the command line of the UCC file. Example:
This ChaosUT section controls the mutator settings, Grapple, grav belt, chaos weapons, etc.

The patch is a little more involved than that, first off the music folder goes into the ChaosUT2/Music directory now instead of the normal UT2004/Music directory, and you must delete the ChaosUT2/Players folder.

Thank you for replying.First,I want to say that the CUT2 PR30 Mod is very popular with our little group.Yes, The Rented Server Variety is slightly different than the typical Server on a Pysically accessible machine.
The rented server provides me with 3 different means of managing the Game server
One,there is a Control Panel from where I can Check Server Status,Health,Usage,and Server Control to Start,Stop ,restart Server.File manager for performing many file operations on *.ini,cfg,css.html,and con files.
In addition ,I have Access to FTP space for my server.when I first got the server the only folder that had any files in it was the System folder.The default UT2004/2003 files are located in a base directory where all UT server may access.The FTP site is for Custom maps,Mods,Mutators..etc.
Lastly,I have Web Admin Interface to manage the Game Server.
I suppose I could run the ChaosGames mutator in the command line of the UCC file from Web Admin Console,or by joining the Game server and logging in from the console as Admin,then sending the ucc command with -Mod=ChaosUT2.I am going to test this process once I get CUT2 updated and everything gores well.
Since I am unable to unzip the ChaosUT2 update package to the Server's FTP space,I unzipped the package on my hard drive,next I opened up an FTP session to the Game Server's FTP space and transfers each folder's files,on my hard drive,to thier respective folder within /ut2004/Chaosut2/ and /ut2004/,overwriting all duplicates filenames.
2,I deleted the /ut2004/ChaosUT2/Players/ folder.
3,I moved the Music files in /ut2004/music/ to /ut2004/chaosut2/music/.
4,Since the files ChaosUT2.ini and ChaosUT2user.ini do not exist in the ChaosUT2\System folder,I skipped this step.
Ok,I have completed all steps of the update proces.The server was started with CUT2 PR3.01 installed.Everything came up fine.We tested it a little bit.Played KOTH-Pryamid and Fise,FIAB.looks good.I let you know later how the -Mod=ChaosUT2 command goes.and if ChaosUT2.ini and ChaosUT2User.ini are created.

thanks for the update and please let us know how it goes! I would think the host should have something in the way to support Epic's Mod switch. I wonder how one would set up a RO Rented Server (as they would use the mod swtich)? Also I noticed that the password and user name was accidently blacked out
