What'll you do with the UE license you get from winning the Grand Finals of the MSUC?

CUT2 is not a TC, so chances are a bit slim that we'll hit the big one...
But thanks for your faith in us!

Something that I am seeing is that people dont understand what could and could not be used. The winner is NOT allowed to use assest from the UT games. So anyone that one, would have to be a major TC. You can use the core files, but a lot of the code would have to be written from the ground up. For example if we won and tried to get Duel in first. Its based on DeathMatch code. That deathmatch code belongs to Epic so we would have to re-write our own deathmatch code from the ground up. So it would be a heck of a lot of work....

If it ain't broke don't fix it, right? in other words... if a mod suits the team fine, then you really don't need the license...
Not that I wouldn't mind paying for Chaos.. oh wait i did with UT99 GOTY...

Oh don't assume that we don't want the license (Also remember that the winner recieves the choice of the UT2004 engine or the UE3 engine) cause I am pretty sure that Everone on the team and beta team wants the engine license. I think Jb was just trying to illustrate that it would not be a very easy undertaking to Use it.

I honestly don't believe there's another team out there, that could and would make better, more long-lasting use of that license than Chaotic Dreams. Seeing Chaos get a crack at that would make me very happy.
Though I don't walk around every day expecting it to happen.

If you won would you want a UE3 license or UE2 license? And since you can't really use CUT2 as a standalone game, I'm interested in what you would plan on doing with a license.
I'd buy a Chaos game in a snap, your stuff owns.

Ah, but the U2 engine has fewer bugs in it because its been around longer. Though we would have to wait to see. That's really the sort of decision we would have to make at that time, rather than ahead of time.
I for one think Chaos could stand on its own if developed from the ground up as its own game.

Yeap thats what I was trying to say. It would be the same as a team grabing the UnrealRunTime Licenes and making a game off that.

Well, thanks.
But tbh, I don't know exactly what I'd want to see Chaos do as standalone, but I'm sure we all have plenty of ideas.
And besides, if I did have a really ultra-cool idea for Chaos as standalone game, I probably wouldn't share it here now anyway.
