CUT2:E got 2nd Place Mutator, But I think Duel should have been entered as a Game type instead of mutator. Would have wasted Alien Swarm. Good job tho guys! Keep up the good work! we look forward to future releases! (up)

i think the mut was cheated and duel should have been shown as honorable in gametypes

as you can see U4E doesnt shine the quality that CUT does, while good,it isnt polished enuff imo..but it gets the first place

It was entered as gametype as well AFAIK.

Well, almost correct Neo.

Duel isn't part of our mutator, and so would not have been judged in that way. But we didn't actually 'break down' the mod into pieces when we entered, and say "this part is entered into this category, and that part is entered into that category". We simply enter and tell them all the categories that we apply to.

Now, what happened after that however is apparantly anybody's guess...

From what I've read on ModSquad, the U4E people did a lot of work between the last two releases. I think a lot of the MSUC judging is based on progress between contest submissions.

Not to knock on the Chaos team, but the game hasn't really changed significantly since MSUC2 (which was PR2).

But the way things are looking, it looks like the MSUC4 submission will be pretty cool.

Thats not true. Phase 2 of the contest we submitted only bug fixes. We then releases PR2 to the public. This contained Melee and the duel game type. So, PR3 was the first that epic has seen our melee system and the Duel Game Type. Pr2 was never submitted to the contest.

Wow. Now that's a load of misinformation.

First of all, Loq already corrected your mistake about PR2 being in Phase2 of the contest (it was actually PRv1.02). But beyond that, you are obviously not aware, or simply forgetting, of all the changes since PR1.02 (or even since PR2 for that matter).

Loq mentioned Duel and Melee, and while that's true, they don't apply to the mutator part of our mod. But even w/o that, if you were interested in speaking factually next time, you could go back and check the changelogs since PR1.02 (or even PR2, take your pick). There are numerous, significant changes and additions in the mutator 'area'. (we tend to do a lot of work between releases ourselves)

Anyway, congrats to U4E for being given the top spot in muts this time.

Ooops. My bad guys. I thought PR2 was the MSUC2 submission. Note for the future: No postings before 9 am from now on.

Boy is my face red

Bah, no hard feelings. :D

And if we seemed a little 'firm' in our response, well, try to be forgiving. Guys like Loq and myself tend to take great personal pride in Chaos, and defend it ferociously.

All is well Iceboy. Hope you continue to try future releases.

Understandable,

I've been a Chaos fan since UT99. I have no reason to stop playing :)
