Proxy ideas

Ok here's some stuff I thought of to make proxies cooler:

1. Proxy commands - It would be really cool if you could tell your Proxies to do stuff! I want to be able to tell proxies to follow me or go after a flag carrier or defend key locations. It would also be cool if you could also do this while controlling a SpyProxy. You could tell other Proxies to follow your SpyProxy so that you can "control" several Proxies at a time. It would be really funny to see Proxies running around with flags (although they probably shouldn't be able to score goals)

2. Proxies and weapon pickups - I think it would also be fun if we could get Proxies to dismantle pickups use them to increase their power! It should require 6 Proxies to do this, and the results for certain pickups should be as follows:

A. Rockets and AVRiL rounds: Proxies strap them on to themselves as makeshift jetpacks. When they spot an enemy, they activate them and rocket themselves towards the enemy, homing in until BOOM!
B. Needleballs: NeedleProxies!
C. Standard and Epic's Sticky grenades: Bigger explosion.
D. Special Grenades: Gives Proxies Napalm/Poison/Disruptor abilities.
E. C.U.T.T.E.R. Blades: Blades and blade shards fly out when the Proxy detonates.
F. MUG ammo: Proxies trail fire/ice wherever they go and explode in a(n) fire/ice ball/cloud.
G. Shock rifle ammo: Big Shock Combo blast upon detonation.
H. Lightning gun ammo: Lightning bolts damage nearby players upon detonation.
I. Flak Shells: Flak ball explosion.
J. Link Charges: Damaging Plasma cloud:
K. Spider Mines: Spider Proxies!
L. BioSludge: Goop splatter.
M. Fire Mines: ?
N. Minigun Rounds, Sniper, Assault Rifle, CPP, etc.: Proxies turn themselves into big, hopping, explosive bullets that shoot themselves at enemies!
O. Proxy pickups: We're FREE!!!!! The freed Proxies join your motley gang.
P. Arrows: Proxies arm themselves with mini-crossbows and shoot quarrels at enemies for less damage.
P. Redeemer and Gravity Vortex: 8O
Q. Turret beacons: Proxy Turrets?


This can all be done via the command system mentioned above, or Proxies can just pick them up by themselves if they want to.



(Yeah, it does sound overpowered, doesn't it)

I like the first one alot as I have endorsed in the past. I especially want the ability for swarms to follow Spyproxies. However As I recall all of this would require that recode of the proxy AI that never seems to get done. :)

as for the Second Idea, it sounds cool but would also become a bit on the overwhelming side if used in excess .the game would essentially turn into some sort of RTS FPS hybrid , players would race to grab the proxy pickus and build an army of Proxies faster than the other guy.. But then I'm not one to talk :)

fire mines: when a porxy exlodes it releases a wall of fire in the direction it is facing. redeemer and gravity: they take on a golden appearence when in deemer mode and a platinum one in gravity mode. they explode when redeemer and they release a redeemer explosion. they do not explode when gravity but plit themselves in half and release a gravity vorted. ion: when a proxy is near an enemy it sits nearby and sends a signal up to the satellite and the beam comes down.

This sounds great imo,except proxy commands,they should gang up,but be completely dynamic,or else it will surely become into a RTS hybrid,also after a pack is above 6 proxies(in dm) or 18 (in teamplay) the proxies should go renegade,become confident

Fix to the problem is simple. Decrease Amo, increase respawn time of proxie weapons. Then it'll be so much harder to get them, kinda like the rail gun.

Make secondary attack in Duel be a throwable proxy pickup.

Say you are fighting a group of guys hackin and slashin and dodge spamming all over the place, you throw one of these babies in there like a grenade from your pocket, and now you got a little more assistance. Im not talking crazy amounts of help, just a little guy to jump after your opponents that are closest to it and cause like 5-10 damage. Make it one proxy per person at a time so it doesnt become a proxy spam fest.

How about an invisibility mode for SpyProxies as an alt-fire? You can use it only while staying completely still when you don't want to be detected.

Heres an idea- allowing proxies to use vehicles. If they can hijack any vehicle, it would make ONS funnier or any of the vehicle modes, but to be fair they would have to be idiots when it came to driving, so about all they can do is go in a straight line.

That was actually possible in one of the beta's a while back. You could enter vehicles as a SpyProxy.

To make it better, allow Proxies to unlock unused enemy vehicles and make vehicles require multiple Proxies to operate effectively.

All comedy aside , it would be waaay to aggrivating to have some Same team proxies drive off in YOUR manta.


although that would be pretty funny , heh heh. especially with some appropriate voices.

Maybe we can have a hidden switch that turns on "Chaos-specific cheats" that allow players to drive vehicles as Spyproxies and other stupid/funny stuff. I do love the image of a proxy behind the wheel of a hellbender.

anyone else vote for bringing back silly bugs as a cheat?
