can you make the spray paint feture in your mod into a smaller chaos attachment (maby a mutator or something) so that people on other servers (on normal UT) can enjoy you asome mod (this also might be a good way to advertise by puting the WWW into the game somehow o_O then normal UT players that dont know about the mod will be introdused to it )

Even though I'm not on the team, I can tell you right off the bat that the answer's no. The Chaos team never fragments the mod into peices (read the chaos ripped off thread). It's a team policy that'll never change.

well it was not part of the mod anyway (from what I have herd) (and it was not an origanal idea) (from what I have heard) its not like I am saying rip the chaos origanal weps out of the game I was saying make a spray paint mutator and make it flash the sites WWW before a game or something.....it would get more people into the mod...at lest thats what I think

is the spraypaint thing copyrighted by Chaos team? I mean, the grapple is chaos exclusive, but the ninjarope2k4 is very similar with different name, diff group, and co-exists. Same effect, find someone on the atari forums to make you a "LogoPaint" mutator, it can co-exist with chaos.

You shouldn't need a mutator for "OTHER" Games .. this is the only game you should be playing!

Hehe, as much as I wish that were true, I'm afraid the grapple is far from "Chaos exclusive". Some of us had played mods with grapples long before coming to Chaos.

The trick of course, is that when the Chaos Team wants to use a neat feature like that (and then distribute it freely), we will create it ourselves, rather than take work of others just because we can. OR, we will approach the original author, and ask permission to use their work, or ask them to work with us.

But of course we do not claim to have "invented" the grapple or the spraypaint features. Never have. And there's not much in any game or mod out there any more, that isn't at least inspired by something earlier.

I would make the spraypaint thing but I realy have no freeking idea where to start >_<

Try starting with the projector code, and work from there.

TBH, spraypaint is the worst example to try to learn from. Mainly as spraypaint has to have very special replication handling, as you have to send data from the client to the server, back to all the clients. Replication is one of the hardest things to learn in Unreal Programing. Again don't want to scare you, but just give you some warning....

Well he can start out by getting it to work in single player and then if he needs help making it work in multiplayer, he can get some assistance from others in the community. That's what the community is for after all.

yo, this is not related to the disscussion at hand but can one of you Chaotic Dreams peeps please post a way for me to get the latest version of UT Chayos mod. i've got GOTY edition and realy want to upgrade. Also I would realy be thankfull if any of you veterans could get a hold of a Unreal ED Read me or FAQ. like i said im new and realy want to play. any replys would be much apreaceated. thanks (in advance).
