Fading Away

Post by Phantasma »

Where has all the servers gone, where is all the players?

Is it me or did the game get a little boring to people, alot of servers disappeared and all I have been seeing lately is chaos used as a mod for a weapon or two. If that is the case will there be a mod to use melee weapons in other modes besides chaos ones. Its pretty bad that I got to wait for the admins to leave a certain server so I can win without them getting pissed and kicking me.

I heard there was supposed to be skins in the 3.5 patch but I didn't notice any so is that true or not?

That's what happens to most mods/games.

After the release, a bunch of people get it and play. Remember back in June, during the release of 3.0? There were truckloads of people playing. After a while, the excitement died down, and people moved on to other things.

Fewer players doesn't mean that Chaos is dying. The truckloads of fans will be back when Chaos releases another version to the public.

Being one (if not the only) server admin for Duel, I have to say there are many new players joining everyday,
but
A) no one is on during those times, so they think its not a played mod.
B) Llamas are on during those times grappling all over the place and not fighting,
C) Really good players are on and they beat them so bad that they get discouraged and stop playing.

I think there needs to be some better PR to our noob friends, other than a 10 second a$$ rape.

But regardless, my stat logger records tons of new players all teh time, but not many stick around for long.. its up to all of us active players to welcome them properly.

You know ryth maybe you should take off the grapple its pointless in duel as long as the map was meant for duel. Alot of us players get tired of all the "Spider-Man" wanna be's.

grapple's an useful tool if not abused. Some manuveras take a while to accomplish, and grapple's good for those.

I say grapple stays on.

The good people should only do play really good against themselves...

ANd go easy on the newbs. That's what I always do.

Agreed, the grapple is extremely useful in many occasions, and unfortunately there's no way to turn it off on maps that aren't up high, and back on for maps with edges u can fall off of.

The occasional noob spiderman player usually gets bored after a while of doing it and if it gets out of hand, usually an admin isn't too far away.
