Grapple Duel map?

Here's an idea for a map that I might want to pursuit.

Lots of balls, or stars, or whatevers, floating in a tall room. Now the thing is that those move, and the only ways to get up is with grapple. None of the walls are grapple, so you have to hit a ball to hitch a ride up. And the weapons are placed in various places up top. Weapons include probably crossbows and rocket launchers.

There might be teleporters in various places along the walls... and other nifty things. So what you guys think?

You cant have wep pickups in duel

Bots would be impossible to get to work

Movers can be quite buggy iirc(can be stopped, etc, etc)

tho a map happening on platforms would be nice, there arent any maps like that, that i know

You can't have a grapple not grapple to a wall... but you could fake it such that the grapple goes through the "surface" as to not grapple.

You can't? I don't like DM... Maybe some coder implement this... Plz...

Who cares?

 Maybe I can find a way lol.

Duel-Joust?

That was what I meant. I did it with my crater maps.

Sounds like it'll be hard... Maybe impossible lolzors. It all depends on how the damnable movers work. It'll be sooo bad if you can stop the movers... Ugh!

you can make them ignore or crush on encroach.

Yes you can have pickups in duel. There is a setting in the game type to turn them on, but they are off by default. Remember, not all maps have pickups though.

Idea sounds nice. How about having a map where instead of a floor, there is only one huge thingy that makes players jump into the air (I forget what they are called). So players will keep bouncing up and down. there should be no ceiling, only those balls/stars/whatever and weapons floating in the air!!!

Jump pads? Lol interesting, and not possible to not have ceiling.

Eternal teleporter loops is possible, but does it work on a network?

But what about the walls?

i think it would be cool to have a map with two gravity zones, one where the gravity is reversed (so players fall up) and one on top of it, with normal gravity (players fall down). This would create a floating plane that players would drift along, and the only movement would be done via air control. This could be really interesting if you bring grapples and grav belts into play.

Call the map "Graviton" or something. I'd make it but I seem to be too busy with RL these days to commit much time to mapping.

im guessing there will be a number of issues with gravity having a negative value.

That said.. would it be possible to have the two areas with a warpzone between them, where one end of the warp was inverted? So you would always fall down but relative to other players you would fall up if in different zones?

No. warp zones don't work online. For the damnest reasons!

I've seen maps with negative gravity in some reigions, so it might work.

sounds like a cool idea
