When you disable the spirits (enable explosion mode) it doesn't actually seem to hurt. I nailed someone with the riot shield and the damned thing exploded *right* in front of me.... and I don't think I took any damage, if at all!

On a side note, I downloaded the Relicz mutator for a giggle... using the CUT relics in combo with those is gret fun!

I have noticed that the explosion doesn't do any damage as well. I figured it was a well-known issue and was being worked on (I mentioned it enough times in dev)...
