Anyway of adding melee weapons to gametypes apart from duel?

Hey, kudos on the mod. Countless amounts of fun. Anyway, I got bored while fooling around in my own server so I started summoning random things. I summoned melee weapons in the game, but they don't work! ie, no animations and they do no damage.

I managed to successfully get a gun and a melee weapon together in duel mode using a mutator, but no luck thus far on melee weapons in any other gametype. I guess it's kind of pointless as the swords/hammers will be terribly outclassed, but it'd be cool if you run out of bullets and you score a kill with a katana.

Anyway, just wondering and giving some praise to a well done mod.

Otep,
in order for the melee weapons to work you need to use the special pawn and controller classes. Thats why when you summoned the weapons nothing really happened. You can use melee in all the chaos gamestypes (Chaos DM, Chaos KoTH, ect)

Just in case you didn't know, selecting Mapper's Choice mode of Duel will get you a mix of guns and melee in some maps - w/o having to use another mutator.

mmh. I had once the same problem as him because I tried to play on a simple dm on ut2003 with the melee weapons.
I also changed in the map the weapons pickup with melee pickup and played with some mutator : same problem : no anim, bad collision with melee weapons etc.
The melee system works only with duel (I mean in ut2003 !).

So I guess you re playing on ut2003, dont you :)
