Hurricanes = The Suck :(

Sooo....
spent the last 8 days with out power, phone, network connection, limited gas, water and cell coverage
The good news is we had no real damage and me and my family came out ok. Lots of trees and power lines are down...the even cancaled Trick or Treating in our city (due to the danagers). More than 1000 stop lights in our county are not working with most of them ripped apart due to the winds... And we had long gas lines (that streched for miles).
But on the lighter side got the Honey Do list completed, all of my old magaiznes have now been read and recycled. Fixed Jr's bike vrs my plan of taking it to a bike shop. And we will save a bunch of money on our Power, Phone and Water bills this month. Know all of our neibhors really well now...as there was not much else to do.. So things could have been worse and its was not THAT bad at all.
The local power company had a small army of over 10,000 works from other states (and Canada) that were working to restore power (over 3.2 million on the first day with out power). I was so happy to see the Alabama Power company with at least 12 trucks putting up the 4 down lines by our place. 2 hours later and we have power and phone came back on today as well. Time to play catch up
