AHA! But not as smart as us here at ISRO [Indian Space Research Organisation]!

BTW, nice joke, but water has been found on mars a long time ago AFAIK. There exist some rudimentary polar icecaps on mars with high levels of imbued Carbon Dioxide... or something like that.

Erm... Water and methane are different chemicals. A water moleculae has one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms whereas a methane molecule has one carbon and four hydrogen atoms... :P

You wanna confuse me, eh? I got chem 5 (the best mark) :P

Code: Select all

  H
  |
H-C-H
  |
  H

CH4 (methane)

EDIT: Oh, here's water:

  O
 / \
H H

H2O (water*)
*The stuff you drink... Destilled.

I see...

Firstly, the word is 'DISTILLED' not 'destilled'

Secondly WTF is chem 5???

Thirdly, no one really does drink distilled water AFAIK...

Fourthly, there is no fourthly, so I'll just end here...

:P

DISTILLED WATER?? Or desalinated water? AFAIK, distilled water is used only in labs...

You actually mean you drink water that has been:
1) Vapourised
2) Seperated
3) Condensed

...

Just because I find this stuff fascinating...,

... does anyone else know why scientists looking for life elsewhere in the universe always specifically talk about finding liquid water, as opposed to ice? Granted, finding water in the form of ice is a step in right direction, an important find to be sure, but why is it that liquid water is what we seek?

Even with the discovery of "extremophiles" (some of which seem to eliminate the need for a 'Sun' as a requirement for life, which was what we previously thought) - liquid water remains as important as ever, at least for life as we understand it.

Just curious if anyone else here is interested by this stuff as well, and is aware of the answer.
