Hey, I think maybe you should group some of the ideas for the mod that you are planning to implement into one topic so that new players can find out where the mod is going without searching the forums, and so that old players who might think its dead can get some new hope now that your properly at it again.

The problem at the moment is that all the real ideas that will probably be put in this great mod are mixed up with ideas that won't actually ever happen

If you don't think its a good idea or already have one i haven't noticed then just delete this and PM me.

Maybe if this works there could be an ideas one aswell.

Just so you know, i (and hopefully the team if they approve) will give ideas that are either being done for definate, are being created but could be left out or are being planned for a release in forseeable future (ie. this release of UT or next one.)

I will also say if a release has covered anything metioned here, to keep it up to date.

P.S. I am not part of the team and so do not take any responsibility for any hopes/expectations that are not actually going to happen.

EDIT: I won't note down any improvements unless they are really noticible

EDIT 2: my new ideas thread ishere!

OK first try...

I will try to cover the obvious stuff that JB and Halprin have written on the main site aswell.

Hovercraft (likelyhood of inclusion: definately in next release)

The hovercraft is pretty obvious really, it like a floating skateboard with engines (not a brilliant description).
It is now planned to have a laser as the primary weapon and a shield as the secondary weapon. It will be a one man veichle.

It sounds like it will almost definatly be in the next release.

Bloody Weapons (likelyhood of inclusion: definately in next release)

The team are bringing back bloody weapons- this was seen in CUT and now its back for CUT2.
What it does is make melee chaos weapons more and more bloody as you attack people with them.

The Bloody Weapons feature also tends to increase the overall amount of gore associated with melee combat as it adds a new drippy blood emitter to the weapon to enhance the bloodiness. The emitter uses particle physics, which allows blood to splatter when a hit is scored by a particularly fast swing. So if you don't like lots of blood effects, you probably won't like this. On the other hand, for those armchair-vampires out there, you'll probably revel in it.

Bike

I have said above that I will not write down changes but this one is quite important so...

The bike will be changed likelyhood of inclusion: (definately in next release)

The bike will now actually lean in the right direction when it turns, it will corner better, the bike dosen't have to be exactly alighned for the gun to work and the bike can do wheelies. I am very happy that this has been revamped. :D

Well there are a couple of biggies:

Bots have a much better understanding of Chaos Weapons. Before the bots only would change ammo if their current ammo supply was out and it auto changed. Now bots try to not only pick the best Chaos weapon for the job but also now try to pick the best ammo for that job. Not only that but they also know about the Advanced Weapon Opition that some of the Chaos weapons have. So while they are not prefect they are much better.

HordeHunters gets a complete overhaul. The basics are there but almost everything else has changed. We have all new monster models, a GUI wave configurator (simular to INV), max life opition, new monster weapons, ect

Have to write more later...

And I had planned to make a post like this before now just never had a chance to..Thanks for reading my mind :)

anyone notice and find it to be pretty cool that the next UT will have hoverboards as a vehicle. On top of that you'll be able to perform tricks and stuff.

anyhoo can't wait for the next version of chaos!

oh yes, i find it verry cool. I think its great that we wont have to develop most of the features of chaos into UT. :) there is so much that we wont have to do for UT07 that its uncanny ;)

Thanks for reading my mind

You're welcome

and thanks for helping me out a bit, after all I don't know some of the stuff you're doing anyway.

P.S. Is someone doing a chaos beast? some posts have hinted it but some made it sound like it wouldn't happen.

Look at it this way, we've conned Epic into making our mod for us. That frees up our time to invent even more crazy chaotic stuff for the next version.

Look at it this way, more stuff for Epic to steal (bio-proxies, remember?) :P

It's too bad Epic doesn't let you to earn money. Not even shirts or donations...

Speaking of which, anyone got a nice pic to print on my shirt? I got some of that 'shirt paper'.

They haven't stolen our grapple yet. And imagine what we could do with it with the expanded physics in UT2007. I think theres alot of ways Chaos can grow in UT2007. As for proxyblobs, meh... Even if they copy the code line-for-line, they'll never be as good as proxies until they rip the sounds and make them surly. And if they do that, then we can really cry foul.

That epic is copying CUT is good in a way... If any of the code screws up, we can sue them for millions ad billions and trillions of Rupees... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Well, i have heard it said that the majority of Chaos is universal ideas from most FPS games.

Ya cant get to upset, as ofcourse we have adopted some of their stuff too. Like the relics, but it could be argued that ChaosDM for Quake 2 had something alot like relics called Tech powerups. Then again, keep inmind that Epic gave full rein for modding and using their old content.

I do believe that the UT07 hoverboard will have a grapple. I could be wrong.

Your correct, the question is can you use it while your onfoot. I hope so, grappling hooks (ninja rope and yalls come to mind) are among my favorite mutators.

I wouldn't worry about that. Stick with us, and you're guaranteed to get a grapple you can use anywhere.
