Yeah its having problems at the moment. It is strange. SOmetimes it will not let you in. We do get in and can play a level but if it goes to change to the next level boom it crashes or doesnt let us in. I can look at the dedicated server window and see al the tcp connection establiched and then tcp connection closed all lined up its strange. Is there a diffrerent folder structure or way that the deidicated server is setup as opposed to the client? I have other ut servers so I pretty much knwo how to set em up in general. Just trying to figure out why ti crashes as we wanna play......................

BTW - I dunno if you realized this or not, but one of the things we are looking for at the moment is a private server for testing our next release.
We had one, long story.., but if you are willing to consider such a thing, we could set you up with our latest build right now.
All I would ask is that you keep it private to yourself and the Chaos team, and that you would be willing to keep making changes (to various game types and stuff) so that we can test all of the mod.
I understand completely if you do not have time to constantly monitor a test server making changes almost daily. That's a LOT to ask. But if in the off chance you are willing and have time, you would be doing a great service to this mod and it's fans.

That would not be a problem. I can password it and a few members of the btc could play test it and give feedback on it. Let me know what I need to download and were the files belong etc........

Just got home and was very happy to read your message.
At this moment, I'd have to give you at least 3 downloads to get current, as we have an actual IR itself, and a smaller update to that, and then a 'quickie' test code file on top of that ... maybe it'd be easier if I allow Jb/Loq a bit of time to get the next actual IR together, so you'd only need the one file.
But I'll send you a PM here shortly and we can start to work out the details that way.
Thanks much.

port has changed to 7750 but its testing the IR build so its private to chaos testers

Itll be open once the testing is done and the release is out. It is in pittsburgh pa usa

And this has already been very useful. From webadmin gui stuff to actual bugs being confirmed/denied online.
And bonus! I was expecting 'warm bodies' when the Toads joined us online for this testing, but it has been anything but that. Guys like Tyrell and pink and Belcherman have been very helpful already.
Had some wierd server issues last night, but whether those were Chaos related or not, I'm sure we'll get it worked out and rock on.
Things are looking better.

Well i removed and files that werent active but present like 3spn etc. So that nothing but chaos files are there. maybe that wil stop the occasional crash.

Hi Belcherman,
can I see the logs on a crash? Trying to figure out if its "Chaos's fault" for those crashs and the logs may hold the key.... Thanks!

Hey can you give me a good command to launch the server line that will setup the log files with the names your used to and the way you like em?

If i remember correctly:
If you start up the server without the -log switch, the log file defaults to ChaosUT2.log in the UT2004\ChaosUT2\System directory.
The name is changable i think via a -log="namehere.log" switch in the server startup line. However, unless theres a special reason for doing this, its easier to just leave it as it is and grab the default named one.

Thanks for the help Jedi as I was not able to get back to a PC yesterday. Here is examples of bat files I use:
c:\ut2004\system\ucc server VCTF-CE-TestAI.ut2?game=chaosGames.ChaosCTF -MOD=ChaosUT2 log=ChaosCTF.log
So just use the log=Choasut2.log or something
I have created bat files for each of our game type that has a different log name, ie ChaosCTF.log, ChaosHH.log, ChaosDM.log so I could keep the log files straight
Thanks again!
