The idea behind this pic is that we want you to be able to take personal damage while riding the HB. Jb is working at it, but it sounds like it's not going to be an 'easy' trick to pull off.
But hopefully, if not this release than in the future, you'll be able to shoot a guy right off his board - and whatever else this leads to as well.
The newest pic under the Hoverboard section of sshots page shows yet another new feature for the Board that has been added already, and so far appears to be working great.

Turns out the HB doesn't weigh all that much, so ...
But hopefully, if not this release than in the future, you'll be able to shoot a guy right off his board - and whatever else this leads to as well.

Yes the hoverboard has a beam like weapon that only lasts a few moments before it needs to recharge. Keep in mind that with the limited space on the HB the designers could not use a heavy weapon...

FYI that trick above did not seem to work..however after a few other hackish tricks the driver of the hoverboard and bike are now very much solid and can be shoot off. Just last night while playing ONS I was able to see this speeding bot come close to my positon...I reached for the EDRW, lined up and nailed the bot while it was moving...the hoveboard only sufured a few scrapes as it fell to the ground with no driver but I was able to jump on it and ride it back to their node
