PROXY TIME *hides all of the claw 2s in the area* hehe. set up a proxy network at home and use that to connect.

You can also try one of the bajillion or so proxy servers that already exist. That\'s what I do, although I do get a bunch of annoying backslashes when I use apostrophes.

nah, my school has a brilliant way to block free online proxy servers, they dont allow changing of screen resolutions, so all the screens at my school are allways at 640x480, most proxies have a frame at the top, and at school it covers the whole window

so how would i go about setting one up at home? if anyone already does it, what program do you use? i can do it in linux, but i prefer windows (not really, but i dont have games for linux, and i dont like rebooting all the time, because it slowly kills my computer)

glad to have (sorta) helped my school uses a proxy-blocker 24-7, but they block forums during school hours. other wise we can read all of the forums.

I guess i will have to be careful then, if proxy blockers are availible, if my screen freezes for a second (a sure fire way to work out when the resident technition is looking at your screen) then ill quivkly close everything, but i think he can still look at my history.

Some sixth formers had a big row with the technition about this recently, when he networked to their screen, they always opened pictures of sexy women, except with the technitions face. and when he came to shout at them, they would argue that hes invading their privacy anyway.

at least he doesn't seem so inclined to do it anymore.

some of the kids at school do that kind of things too. on of the kids made a web page that suggested that he was looking at naked women. he was "disciplined" (aka yelled at) by the librarian. my friend told her to look the web site. she was so red in the face that I wasn't sure if she was embarrassed or angry

Well, i managed to create a proxy, now i just have to try to get to it from school (and try to remember to keep my computer on)

Just as an update, how is it going? did it work or do I have to make a proxy for you? (We have a server at the office that I could make a proxy on. I've been meaning to do that anyway)

Ive got today off.... so i cant try until monday.

funnily enough, it doesn't seem to work from my computer (the one the proxy is on)

Another way to do it is to use VNC or something of the nature. That'd be somewhat of a last resort though I think. :p
