just installed, never used mods....In botmatch, no bots?

Hi, I am sure this has been covered before, but didn't find anything with the search. I am a complete noob to mods. This is the first one loaded. Everything seemed to install correctly. Went to play a botmatch, and there were no bots, just me running around a map by myself. I went to options, and the bot #'s box is blacked out. Am I doing something wrong?
