i really like this feature. it took a lot of team deliberation to arrive at it in it's current state, and i like the outcome. i think people will enjoy it and adds a great dynamic to game play. how does this compare to prior Chaos versions, like CUT2004? Did they do the same thing or similar?

Indeed we did, but if I remember right, it wasn't actual sword blocking. It was more of a deal where once you hold up sword, we'll determine that X number of bullets were blocked.
About this post, bit of a mystery post. Has Doc's signature, but isn't Doc. And references a Doc video from the past.
Must be a Russian bot? They're all the rage right now, or so I hear.

Ha@Russia they actually have a company for this, pretty organized, so who knows?
Interesting to compare to old chaos. It is quite a legendary and high standard to live up to. In the UT4 incarnation, it's real time blocking based on a sword shaped collision box, so you need to use some skill to block. the area is more graceful(larger) than the actual physical sword itself, but at the end of the day, the shots can get around the sword and hit you, so it takes a lot of movement, timing, and positioning to use effectively. this is the answer to balance issues such as blocking without some energy limitation (like the UT shield and it's energy limits) being too Over Powered and such, and me thinks it's a nice balance, but i suppose the players themselves will be the ultimate judges of that. so far for me it's been a really fun feature.
