ctf7 gametype

this is a strange one so bear with me 'kay? :lol:

first there are seven teams, each with 7 flags 8O in their base
to score, each team must cap one enemy flag and hit the score button
to score big, each team must cap multiple flags and hit the score button (the scores add up just like in headhunters mod (1 for first, two for second three for third etc.)
to get an absolutely ridiculous score it is preferred that they get as many different coloured flags as possible (the more colours, the higher the score multiplier)
however you can only cap as many flags as you sill have safe in your base

for more fun, there only needs to be one score button, or as many as the mapper wants to add

i also had this really weird idea about crossing this with deathball/bombing run, but that would just be silly now wouldn't it :D

this will require the huge maps that everyone says you can do in UT2K3 but i havent sen yet :wink:

how bout this- we cut it down to one flag each for four teams, and call it MultiCTF- oh whoops, that already exists! Actually that idea sounds really cool but it would be rather confusing to newbs with 20 gazillion flags being picked up and dropped and whatnot all the time, you'd get even more sick of the announcer than ever before :lol: "Red fla- blue flag 1 retu- purple flag 3 tak- yellow flag 7 dro- Green team scor- Green flag taken!" hed never shut up :p
youd also probably never get the 14-28 people needed to play it, unless it came out like right now...

Well, it does sound perhaps a bit hectic.

But give him credit for trying. It's not easy to try and come up with a new gametype is it?

I love CTF, and have spent hours trying to conceive a new way, that compares to classic play, but has not been done. Hard to do. Perhaps CTF is like toilet paper. You know? I mean, whaddya gonna do?

Though as I've said before, I think if anything comes close to actually being an improvement over CTF itself, it would have to be Carry the Flag. (carry your flag back to base, rather than just touch it)

add extra absorbant pockets, dammit!!!

don't like that one huh? try this;

cross ctf and koth :borg: - teams have to plant their flag on [br ball spawn point] to 'claim' hill.
can only score points for frags while both base flag and hill flag in place.
score extra points for capturing enemy base flag.
enemy hill flag returns to spawn point when touched.
can use br maps.

much simpler, no? poss. add 'carry ctf' elements you like so much.

hmm, kind of hard to follow you tthrough that. Perhaps, whoever flag you take to is the only team that can kill your team, and to end your earning hill time, they have to get their flag and get it off the hill to stop you. i smell some potential here. :)
