a) Plasteel is not magnetic
b) if it was, as the blade came toward you the blade itself would curve into a circular arc, which would slice through the magnet and continue on into you. (the blade is made of electrons... and actually according to the books is controlled itself by a magentic field as well as a gem. Altering the field would cause the blade to stretch and curve, and the saber itself would rotate because of the laws of magnetism). If done right, you would end up with a curved electric force-field.
c) If the handle is conductive, it will produce a voltage because of the strong magnetic field and besides altering its trajectory it would give you one nasty shock (high voltage and current)
P.S. Im a star wars fan and just about to finish magnetism in AP physics

Actually that is at the choice of the jedi. Some dont even have activation buttons, but are activated by connecting a circuit through telekenisis. Others will turn off when the jedi looses his grip. Yet others are always on until the button is pushed to turn them off (some require a double press to ensure the blade is not accidentally shut off in the middle of battle).
Yes i have outcast.... while its better than JK1 i still wish there was a more advanced/specialized fighting system for lightsabers (and a duel mode). Dont know about you but they are the reason i play the game (i went through single player with a saber once i got it, only switching out of it when i needed to snipe with the disruptor at full charge). Also you will notice when he tosses the saber it stays on even after he throws it, then it is shut off when it is supposed to return to his hand. Oh yeah, force choke to saber throw to force pull to hack 'n slash owns the computer bots
I think at one point there was a starwars fighter game (for PS?) called Masters of Teras Kasi i think, but i didnt have the system so i couldnt play it, and dont know if it had saber duels or not.
ok last thing, the tobe is not a name... its "to be" as in "You are not a jedi yet." The 1 is because when i made that for my email address it would only take it with a 1 on it =/ However you are not the first or the last to make that mistake, younger padawan

what if im telekinetic too and i turn off your ligtsaber over and over? then i blow up your lightsaber by creating a vacuum with my mind and shoot you with lightsaber bits? or is the saber made of rubber?
and what if i did some matrix xhit and stabbed you in the side while you were doing some fancy stuff w/ your saber?

Cos The Force doesn'y grant you Matrix-light power of your environment. Remember, everyone in the Matrix (except Neo) can only react to situations - whereas Jedis sense it happen before it does.elpollodiablo wrote:what if im telekinetic too and i turn off your ligtsaber over and over? then i blow up your lightsaber by creating a vacuum with my mind and shoot you with lightsaber bits? or is the saber made of rubber?

Move along...."
P.S. Well, each jedi also has the power to be an oracle, but yes you are right
