big bug... deserves its own thread :D

ok i started up chaosut2 from its shortcut, and looked for servers. none. alright, ill play instant action.

first i picked the KOTH gametype. the maps had no screenshot, no description, and no recommended player amount. i made sure the chaos ut2 mutator was enabled. i tried to play and it said "missing package 'cannons'"

alright, so i tried on a DM map. i joined, and the menu and features like the spectator thing work. the grav belt shows up too. but nothing is in any of the weapon bases (except the link gun cuz it doesnt get replaced)

so, how do i get weapons?

When you select the Chaos MOD, be sure to configure it using the config button and switch the Weapons to Cycle. Let me know if that helps.. stop in IRC channel as we are there.

Not a coder, but did you get the umod or the zip?

Anyways... the server thing is because there is only one server that is running chaos right now and its not yet configured for koth. you would have to type in the IP address (66.153.113.18:7777) in the add favorites to see it.

Check your animations directory. Do you have a file called "ChaosSPAmapmodels.ukx" or "ChaosSPAmodels.ukx"? When i tested the original umod before release i had the exact same problem, and it was because it had a switched file.

Finally, assuming you got the umod.. it has been reuploaded recently. However, the zip i find more reliable. Just download it, and use the extract all command and point it at your base c:\ut2003\ directory.

doesnt work

it just has ut2 weapons. no chaos weapons

i tried summoning them but nothing appears

Manny, sorry for your issues but we did not use the cannon folder in the chaos files. It could be a map issue or something else. Can you do this for me, fire up a game, try to play it (and it wont work) but then quit right away. And send me your UT2003.log file (jb@planetunreal.com) in that file will be the reason why its not loaded.

Thanks for the reply.

It looks like your missing the cannon animation files. Not sure how it got dropped as that one of epics default files. You could re-install UT2k3 and that should fix it...or just use this file:

http://www.chaoticdreams.org/ce/jb/Cannons.zip (small file)

just unzip that and place it in your UT2k3\animation dir

That should fix it. Again sorry for your troubles.

Its kind of our fault. We thought we might have the turrets ready for this realse. We did not have time to make a new mesh so we borrowed epics. However we never had a chance to finnish them. Next release we will!!!
