In the meantime. Do you have any settings disabled in options? I too can see them online with a clean install of nothing but the bonus packs and chaos and patch. Also note that these are supposed to be airstreams so they are rather transparent and most easily viewed from the side (in slomo shoot one then strafe to a side)

What kinds of settings are you looking for?
Anyway, something I thought of that's worth checking is they might not be appearing if your framerate is low enough for the game to start dropping detail (Level.bDropDetail) - I know there's some code in the main emitter classes that cuts the number of particles in those cases.

Well i tried it at lowest settings and i could still see the streams.
Do you have any unchecked boxes in your details/video etc settings other than then blob shadows?
Also since the streams are rather faint it might be that you are actually seeing them but not recognizing them. Let me see if i can get a picture..

Ok:
This is the arrow without a trail (it doesnt have one until about 3 meters id guess after leaving the gun):

This is a picture of it with the trail (note how faint it is.. its a bit easier to see when its moving):

Also note the small light at the tip of the arrow that makes it more visible and also emits the airstream

Trust me....it's really not there. I played Instant Action after you mentioned there were in fact trails and they were plainly obvious. I then started a dedicated server, connected to it locally, and bang no trails.
I have all the details boxes checked.....including blob shadows. Detail levels mostly at medium levels.

Mysterial,
nope we do trust you is just that we dont see the same issue. Once we can see it, then we can fix it.
On your server did you make sure to add in the Chaosfiles to your Game Packages? What happens in on-line games is that the trailers show up on the client side only after the arrow is replicated. However the arrow has moved quite a bit by then. So its much easier to have another human shooting them at you so you can see them a bit better.

Nothing to do with the trail, but can there be a easier way to tell what ammo type you are using with the Crossbow and Sniper Rifle? I know the message tells you what ammo your using, but if you use a different weapon and come back to it after awhile, yout might not know what ammo your using unless you "waste-a-shot" first. In the UT verison, the skins on the weapons were different. Is it possible for each allow type to have their own skins on the crossbow and the color of the scope for the sniper rifle be green like in the UT verison?

The arrows are visible on the crossbow. Look at the arrowheads.
The Sniper is a little different. While there is the ammo icon at the bottom that is accurate, the skinchange is not readily visible (it is there, but not easy to see as its on the bottom side of the weapon).
