Weapon summon names?

Weapon summon names?

I have a small, seemingly unresolvable problem in UED for UT2K3. I press buttons and nothing happens.

Reinstalls don't work, nothing works. So therefore I'm left with no way to get weapon summon codes. (I have this thing called WOTGreal and no idea how to use it.)

I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind putting the weapon codes here so I can summon them in a game. Thanks :D

A coder could give you a full answer... but to summon ingame most chaos weapons ive seen use "chaosut.weaponnamepickup" or "chaosut.weaponname_pickup" where weaponname is the name of the weapon (erdw or claw2 or grenadelauncher, etc, as i said the coders could give you a more exact answer) and pickup is actually spelled out.

for instance i think the grenade launcher is: "summon chaosut.grenadelauncher_pickup"

From the the <a href="http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~chaotic/in ... gs_ut2.php" target="_blank">configs page</a> of the online manual. It's a big read, but worth it. (Hard to believe our beta testers had to memorize the entire thing isn't it? Eh Jedi? :wink: )

Note: These names may also be used with the 'summon' command. In ut2k3 you have to summon the PICKUP and not the weapon or item.

So to get the ERDW:

summon chaosut.erdwpickup

to get crossbow

summon ChaosUT.CUT2_Crossbowpickup
And BTW Jedi, you were right, a coder did answer him. Because Jb wrote that, I simply cut and pasted it into the manual. :wink:

I saw pictures of laser trip mines or something on another thread... are those summon-able, and if so whats the code? Or is it one of the ones in there (I'll have to find out what code is what weapon tomorrow, no time tonight.)

Laser trip mines are one of the ammo types of the claw. Not the default ammo type though, so you will have to put the mutator on at least rotate to pick some up. There is probably a summon command for ammo, but i dont know it off the top of my head. However, the loaded command will give you 999 of each ammo of the multiammo weapons... assuming you have the weapon when you enter the command.


Also the "mutate madfragger" command will give you all the chaos weapons and their default ammo pickups. Type loaded after that and you will have 999 of all ammo for all weapons, both chaos and normal

I'm not a complete newb ;)

Okay then thanks for the info. When you release new versions with more stuff I'll be sure to bump this (or you could avoid that by putting a list in the readme txt :))

It itself is in the readme =)

Go to the help section of your ut directory, there is a folder for chaos. Open the html document there and you will access the full readme (which the online version is mostly a copy of)

Well then I guess we won't need this thread for weapon codes......

can I use it instead to praise ChaosUT2K3? (Gee, like you'll say no or something... :p)

I feel this version of Chaos isn't as clunky feeling as the UT version. I couldn't get the whole "rotation" stuff, the weapons just didn't feel right somehow. I know the Gravity Vortex was a real mess with Infinite Ammo. You fire one Vortex, then you can't fire again. You need to toss out the Vortex and get a new one. The UT version just seemed like such a mess compared to this. This is only the first release and aside from what you patched already, I can't find anything wrong with it. And believe me, I looked ;)

Someone's doing a review of it at Modsquad. I'll see if anyone has picked it up yet and if not, I will do it. I have some suggestions for additions/changes to weapons etc. but as for anything new, I can't think of any.

Just out of curiousity, what is still being planned? Obviously this version isn't the last.

I'm on Eastern time. Is there a time, hopefully tomorrow, we can set up so that the team can get on a server and I can join you? That way I can ensure I don't get my ass kicked while I online test everything. I'd like to actually be able to do the stuff I need to do instead of being so close and then getting fragged :P :D

Whatever day and time is good, but tomorrow will have to be after 3:30 EST. I have a dentist appointment. Any other day through the week and it will have to be after 2 PM as I work.

Okay I don't know who's reviewing it, but it doesn't look like it's me. No one can seem to get their sh*t straight about it though so I might just end up doing it anyway.

Well, here we go..... (careful what you wish for :p)

-lower the activation time of the fire proxy mines by about a second. It seems too long to activate right now.

-Maybe a new mine type: Weapons Factory for UT had a nice one that was an Instagib beam. You touch the laser, you die. After 5 kills the mine self destructed. Maybe this? That would be cool. Very cool. :)

-CAS12 shotgun. Next release or else ;)

-CUTTER: Altfire cutter blade shards maybe deal more damage. It's hard to hit with the shards. Either that or more shards. :)

-I'd love to be able to charge up 5 arrows in a bow and then hold it until I'm ready to fire. That would be sweet.

Other than minor stuff like this (except for the CAS12 which isn't "minor") I can't think of anything really new to add. I'm sure you all have ideas though. Any idea on when we can see Beta 2 and what will be in it?

Please the CAS12, please the CAS12.... :D

Bah thats the same as our laser mines from good ol Q2 days. We had talked about doing them.

Spa put up an iteresting list of weapon ideas. Sad to say the CAS12 was not on that list. However I posted to make it known that some fans may want it back...soo we shall see how it goes.

This my friend I probably will not be flexible. During many of the IRs we has the Crossbow use to be just like this. We found it to be a little cheap to have you set in the corner, charge up a bow, wait till some ran by and shoot them in the back. We felt that its too cheesy to get a kill like this. As you know 5 arrows up close is very deadly. So we figured that its better the person earns these kills. So hope you understand.

Well atm the list is still fuzzy, probably turrets, melee, start up weapon and game type... we are still talking about it...
