Lockup
Re: Beast. I just unistalled it. I'll wait until I see version 1.1 at skincity or some other place. If I don't....oh well. Not that important to have it in the game.
There was an author name ,but I was unable to find his website anywhere,so I don't think he has one.
No critical failures since I got rid of that model.

I had the assault gun and I was about to pick up the vortex launcher, and at about the same time one of my proxy mines killed a bot. Then the game froze. Again the same irritating noise sounded while the game remained frozen.
I wasn't firing the assault gun this time.
Something odd to do with the vortex launcher.
I noticed that after the vortex collapsed like it always does it left behind the top half of it's sphere for a few seconds. I mean the small sphere that you see when it's in the vortex launcher.

Back again! My server is up and running now.

hmm i dont know if it`s me or not?
but when i use the gravity belt online everything seems to sutter?
everything is ok untill i use the belt,then thats when the stuttring starts.
If i deativate the belt.it stops??

Arena mutator
First of all I would like to say I think these Chaos weapons are great. Lots of fun. The vortex launcher is very cool. Very nice effect.
I also have the ChaosUT weapons for UT. ( Yes I still enjoy playing UT.)
Arena Mutator.
I thought I'd try the arena mutator and use nothing but grenade launchers. I don't know if you know this or not, but when that mutator is used only standard grenades appear next to the weapons. The same thing happens for all other weapons that have more then one ammo type.
Another lockup.
I used the arena mutator and chose vortex launchers. I was playing 11 bots in Tokara forest. I played 12 games with no lockups,but on the thirteenth game everything locked up. I suspect this lockup occured just because there were 12 vortex launchers being used.
(It was fun. Kind of funny too watching a bot that got stuck on one of those "railings" beside a walkway. Her legs were moving so fast they looked like a blur,and the vortex was only a couple feet away.
Sometimes when my character died I wouldn't hit the button right away and re-spawn. Instead I'd watch him get pulled from one vortex to another.

We'd love to fix it, but they can't fix the code until they can find it, basically meaning repeat the bug on demand, so they can see what to fix. Our job as beta testers is to find the 'trigger' for them. I have failed thus far to find the trigger for this bug.

But if you're getting it more often, than maybe there's something new here. If you can get it to repeat on demand, and give us the log file and as many details as possible, that would help a lot.

But, really every time a lockup or something is mentioned, we have to cover the basics, or we end up possibly chasing ghosts. Were you using any other mutators? Were you on the latest version of Chaos? (PR1.01) Were you using hte Beast model for yourself or any bots? Etc. (Edit: I see in your earlier post RH you uninstalled Beast. But still , any other muts or whatnot?)

Re: Follow up to grapple not working
I started pondering this about a week ago for the grapple not showing, but i have not yet encountered the bug in game:
It might be getting caught in its "release" function, i.e. it is never resetting back to the unused state where you could fire it again, and every time you press the grapple key until you die its trying unsuccessfully to release its hold again and again.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It won't let me uninstall it says it can't find the setup file in my C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp folder and I can't do anything!!! This is Windows XP and I did a system restore point, not helping...Its not in Control Panel either..at least I think

hmm.. one option is to uninstall unreal tournament 2003.. when you open the uninstaller you can choose mods that used ut2mods instead of uninstalling the game.
Or you could go in and take out the chaos files. If you got the zip and the option above isnt availible you can open the zip, find the files in there, and remove them.
