Wolfenstein Chaosic Territory

Post by Deaga »

I've been playing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory alot. I only end up visiting this site acouple times this month. I've been busy with my clan and stuff. And I was wondering how Chaosic Dreams could get ideas from wolfenstein enemy territory the online game. Things like class(Like engineer or medic stuff) and rank(Captian and major stuff). To be able to build bridges and turrets and to go under cover as a covert ops in Unreal Tournament 2003 would be true chaos.

For those who don't know Wolfenstein ET(enemy territory) is a first person shooter war game that involves doing alot of stuff ranging from dynamiting a fuel depot, to stealing gold from a nazi bank.

Personally I dont like playing class based teams only because about 1/2 of the people playing it on-line are TFC. I remeber playing a lot of RtCW on-line were I wound up on a team with almost all luet or soldiers. IT was hard to complete some of those maps when you only had one medic or one engineer. But thats just IMHO....

I vote that we save this discussion until after UT2004 comes out. As I understand it, it will ship with an assault (or assault-like) gametype which may be class-based. I think we should see how that turns out before we start trying to do similar things with Chaos. If it looks good at that time, then we can think about adding some chaotic touches to it.

I'm not in favor of the whole bomb-whatever-inorder-to-win, but building bridges and stealing enemy dead clothes inorder to go under cover makes for good game play. This could also be team based where you could like fix a lifter to get to the vortex(engineer), or just surpise them as they see, what appears to be, their team mate shooting them. Not just mission based. Proxy and laser land mines(under ground) can be planted by engineers as a defence or whatever, normal land mines are also a good idea.

Medics could give out health packs, adrenaline, poison antidotes, be imune to poison, and even regenerate... alittle bit(and maybe that revive thing could be put in some how) and should start off with the cutter.

Engineers could lay the mines hidden from the eye,(but cover ops can spot them using the binoculers, alowing them to be exposed to his teammates). Engineers could also build a fixxed turret, when they have the parts.

Field ops could carry the extra ammo to give(But the field ops extra ammo will regenerate), and they could even start off with that Ion Painter.

Cover ops can spot mines and take a copy of an enemy's image and use a halogram to make himself look like him/her. And also start off with the choice of having the rail gun, cross bow(Choice of ammo), or the sniper rifle.

Soldier could start off with full armor, half adrenaline, and a weapon of choice from the chaos menu(the menu you use to select the class and weapon). The weapons the soldier can choose from should not include the cutter, ion painter, vortex launcher, rail gun, cross bow, and sniper rifle.
