the turret will shoot rockets and energy balls right? i think the energy balls should be replaced with rail shots and the rockets have the cut rocket advanced option.
The discussion on turrets is still open I think. We want to use rockets and some other kind of smaller weapon, we still have to nail down what type it is.
There are also plans for two different kinds of turrets with different features.

Allright somone brought this up a while back and I brought it up 2 weeks ago , but neither of us got any feedback , so I'm gonna brung it up now...

Do it yourself turrets...the turret pickup is just the base of the turret , and you can attach whatever weapontype you have to it...except claw2 and sword... this could be the premise for the smaller turret...
The type of turret that you describe was attempted in tribs2. It was really frustrating to set up a turret base and have it shot down before you got a barrel on it.

We had a lengthy discussion about that idea on the dev forums but eventually went in favor of a more advanced system which uses pre-defined turrets. I think it would be possible in ChaosUT2, but the prevailing argument was that the turret needs to be very powerful because it's a superweapon, and the best way we could do that is by designing an entirely new weapon for it to shoot, rather than a weapon that can already be fired by the player.
Trust me though, the turrets will have an awesome amount of firepower, but will not be infallable. There will be ways to take over someone else's turret when it runs out of ammo. So there is incentive to maintain your turrets and keep them supplied with ammo.
