My Link replacement Idea for ChaosUT2:E
The idea is for a weapon I have had on my back burrner for Ideas for ever. Here it gos tell me if you like this Idea. Replace the Link gun, with a weapon I like to call the Plasma Feeder, 1st fire mode is a shogun like plasma burts, 2nd fire mode is a rapid fireing plasma bolts. it has 3 barrols, 2 side by side, and a 3erd under those 2 for the fully atomatic plasma botls that move at a speed of 120KPS.
ammo types are two one for the Plasma shotgun burst, holding 10 rounds power cell, the other for the ato Plasma bolts holding 15 rounds.
the Plasma Feeder can hold up to 30 shotgun rounds, and 100 atomatic Plasma bolt rounds. I have a cool looking concept for it if you'll take me up on the Idea?

MuG stands for Multi purpose Utility gun. it has with 3 main ammotypes
( more are a possibility)
Air is the default ammo type , with it you can push other players away with a blast of air
the other ammotypes include fire and ice ,

Hummm......... From what I gather from that topic I think my gun would work better in IMHO, better and more easy to code for and more diffrent than Link. Remember not to make too many ammo types or it might be to hard to use the weapon's features, and also the mod lacks a gun for cloce reange combat than just the Meele weapons. you need a weapon that is good for cloce range combat like the flack cannon. your Idea is fine , but from what I understand , the Mug IS going to be in the next release , plus , the mug is already part of CUT , and its only natural to bring it to Cut2
well if you had gone to the link to the thread that I posted then you would have seen that there is a close range ammo solution being tossed around.Hummm......... Well, you don't have to go with the UT2k3 style weapons to replace. If they did that, then most of the custom weapons would work kind of like the UT2k3 weapons and not be as fun (or creative). The weapons (some of them) replace UT2k3's weapons to how they work, not what they are (plasma, etc.). While I'm not sure about the Grenade Launcher replacing the Flak Cannon (weapons are normally place where they would be useful) or the CAS12 replacing the minigun in ChaosUT. Maybe the Grenade Launcher could swap with the CUT Rocket Launcher (like the Sniper Rifle and EDRW).

My Pellet ammo idea for the MUG makes it a great shotgun style weapon. Primary fire is a standard shotgun burst, alt-fire makes it function more like a chaingun (albiet with a high degree of spread)... ChaosUT2 currently does not have a weapon that functions either way, so it would fill that need nicely. Plus it's perfect considering the way the MUG works.
With pellet ammo, you have four ammo types for the MUG:
1: Compressed Air (no ammo - infinite but has to recharge)
2: Napalm (Flamethrower)
3: Nitrogen (Freezethrower)
4: Pellets (Shotgun/Machinegun) - perhaps these could become plasma pellets with damage-amp?
Four ammo types isn't too many, but it's enough to make the MUG a truly Multi-Utility gun.
The big question in my mind is this: Are we just going to have a MUG or will we also add in an enhanced Linkgun? If we add in an enhanced link, I would suggest the tractor beam idea I had earlier as an ammo type for it.

I say make the tracer beam a 5th ammo type for the MUG. True it would have to enough ammo types and uses to stay true to it's name, but as I said before, having too many would make the other weapons not as useful or two guns that end up doing the same thing. Are the firing modes planned for the Flamethrower and Freezethrower yet?

As far as I know, we're still going with Flamethrower/Freezethrower. Those were planned from the start. Though a possibility is to combine them into the same ammo type and have the WOK switch between them... That would cut one ammo type down without eliminating thier functionality. Tractor beam would be great for the MUG, actually, so maybe that fact alone justifies another ammo type. I think the most we can do is 5 or maybe 6 ammo types. At that point, we need to find other alternatives.
Perhaps we could do something with the UT2k3 lightning gun similar to what we did with the rocket launcher, but more. Make the beam continuous, have it jump all around chaotically, and have it be attracted to metal surfaces and players, electrify water, and discharge, and it would truly be a chaos-ified version of UT's Lightning Gun. We could call it the Chaos Tesla Coil (CTC)... Or something mythical like "The Mjolnir"... or "Crom Faeyr" (SP?)...

The lightning gun is way too easy to snipe with... Here's an idea:
With the MUG, there can be the freeze, flame, and pellet ammo.
The lightning gun can be made into a freaky hi-tech energy weapon, first type of energy cell insert could work like the tesla coil. The other energy cell insert could be the tractor beam.
